Metallurgical engineering 8k

Food technology 14k 

So , in both the branches , your rank is lesser than the closing ranks for the previous year. So , you can expect admission in jadavpur university.

First of all,IIFPT(formerly, IICPT) provides a degree in food process engineering.Basically, people confuse with food engineering, food science, food processing, food technology, it might seem all of them are same at the first glance but actually not so, each of these have subtle difference in application.

Yes you can definitely get admission in JU for Food Technology considering your reservation and rank. The previous year's cutoff off first round was above 14k, so it'd definitely be around that rank, this year too. So you can try for other colleges and universities too, or go with this.

To be exact the placements of food technology is not that good for techno India salt lake campus.

But every year the placements are improving and currently around 60 percent students get placed.

The avearge package being around 2-3 lakhs per annum.

 But this scenario might change in future.

• PSG College of Technology
• College of Engineering, Guindy
• Madras Institute of Technology
