No, its not compulsory to have maths for BA in French.
The minimum requirement for being eligible is to have done 10+2 in any stream, from a recognized educational Board with a minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the 10+2 level.

In order to pursue MA in French Language through distance mode candidate must have completed the Bachelors degree program in any stream from recognized University. Beside this one must have acquired the basic knowledge in the respective language equivalent to at least a two year diploma level course.
