I understand your concern. However, in my understanding, this could have happened because the candidates from UR Rank 1 to 40 must have appeared for other MD entrances say, AIIMS or NEET MD and must have taken up admissions in other colleges of their choice through these exams.

If you are planning to do masters from VIT i would recommend to kindly look for goverment colleges because doing masters from an premier institute guarantees your placement too
But on the other if you are joining VIT and spending lakhs of rupees and still there are good

UG is Undergraduate and for Engineering, there are two courses - Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.).
For PG i.e., Postgraduate engineering courses, you can opt for Master of Technology (M.Tech).
