It depends from Department to Department. If you are applying in IIT'B for Thermal being a ME then you will have to give a subjective test. For Ocean you will have to appear for Interview. Sometimes IIT G Conducts Tesr sometimes not but maximum times it gives the GATE score a preference with Interview. IIT Kanpur Conducts Test for Electrical Department.
