Hi, Im getting 35 marks in gate 2020-Aerospace. I belong to sc category. What are my chances to get admitted in mtech?? Thanks in advance

Shivangi Kumari 2nd Mar, 2020
Hey Srikanth,

From the marks you have scored, you will get a score of about 400-450 in the gate examination. There is nothing about the category in deciding the score card.

But the cutoff released by the various institutes are according to the category. Cutoff is about 31marks for OBC. So if you are hoping for any good colleges like NITs or IITs then you might have a little chance of getting into it . A good gate score are also considered for employment in PSUs.

Hope it helps !

Yastika Kumar 2nd Mar, 2020

Hi there,

Since you haven't mentioned your category I am assuming it to be general. The cutoff score is not yet released but with this score there are tough chances for you to get in government college. You can only get into any private college for M.Tech

hi,

see gate exam is very different from college semester exams, and it needs rally hard work and intelligent preparation, now it varies from stream to stream and you need to analysis the marks weightage according to syllabus wise and need to follow a routine for preparation besides your college study. however mathematics and aptitude is common to all streams, and if you get around 20 marks from this two it will help you to increase the overall score. another thing is you need to have confidence to overcome the fear of exam.

my gate score is 9in XE group i want admission in mtech in Maharashtra so is it possible to get a admission in institute of chemical technology mumbai? or which college is best in placement of food technology students in mtech

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 10th Apr, 2020
Hello , GATE cutoff for XE category is 26.0 for general category. You have not qualified the entrance exam. You have appear it again in coming years so that you get a qualifying score which will be accepted by different MTech providing colleges.
You can appear in 2021. Meanwhile practice more and prepare well. Make a plan and work on that. There are many resources and free materials available. Utilize them so that you can understand concepts and learn to solve questions accurately in limited time.
To get into top colleges like IIT you have to score above 600-700. For government college, a score above 500 will make you eligible.
Hope it helps!

hi,

see cutoff scores changes year to yea and depends on various factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level etc. this year according to many gate coaching institutes it is expected that cutoff scores will increase, so At this score you have less chances for iits and top ranked nits. however you have chances in north east nits, vit vellore, state government colleges.

i have a gate score of 17.63. I belong to EEE branch. Will I get a seat in kerala govt. college. should i apply as gate or non-gate

Sharon Rose Student Expert 1st Mar, 2020
Hello,
In 2019 the cut off for GATE for Electrical Engineering was as follows for each category

  • General category:39.6
  • OBC-NCL:35.6
  • SC/ST/PWD:26.4

Considering this you may not qualify GATE 2020.But cut off changes every year, it may increase or decrease depending on number of candidates appeared, number of seats available, difficulty of exam etc.To get seat through GATE you need to qualify. However, for admission in M.tech is Kerala Non-GATE candidates are eligible to get seat based on aggregate in B.tech.
So you may have to apply as non-GATE candidate. It depends on the vacant seats available and your aggregate whether you may get seat in government college or not.
