If i get gate score of 300-350 which is the coolge or am i elgible to any PSU?? Please suggest me

Shivangi Kumari 29th Feb, 2020
Hey Gokul,
It mainly depends upon your stream of UG Gate as well as on your category.
Generally if you are from OBC category with rank less than 500 ,then there are good chances of getting interview calls from PSUs and you can easily convert these chances to your final selection.
But if you belong to general category then rank more than 300 or 350 is very risky or say you are at danger zone. There are almost no chances of getting any calls from PSU if rank is over 500 rank. (for almost all the streams)
The gate cutoff will be released by IIT Delhi on March 16,2020 .

Good luck !

In Gate 2020 I did not filled ews category but now I have certificate . should I avail ews facility now during admission in iit or not.

Sai Sri Nandan Ch 29th Feb, 2020

Hello,

In the first place, you need not apply your EWS certificate while filling the GATE 2020 application as cutoff for GATE 2020 for General and General-EWS is SAME. (There is no relaxation in cutoff or fee).

Moreover, if you don't have a valid EWS Certificate during admission, you will be considered as a General Category Candidate. (This actually means, it won't make any difference in your admission).

But GATE has nothing to do with subsequent process of admission. Therefore, it is advisable to use your certificate to avail any provisions offered exclusively by University.

IITs have fee waiver like relaxations for candidates with EWS certificate.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Hello Aspirant,

No, you will not be considered ews candidate because you are considered in the category which you choose to apply during the application process or form filling. If you have chose general category during form filling then you will be considered general only.

Gate score 388 and 36.35 marks . Civil engineer, genreal category. 78% in graduation. can i get admission in bits or any of the iits or other than my specification that i can apply.

Aniket Sharma 8th Apr, 2020

hi asif,

If you are a general/obc candidate then there is no chance of getting into IITs. If you have SC/ST quota then you may expect a newer IITs. To get into BITS post- graduation programme, you can get it with the help of your BITS HD score. BITS HD is conducted by BITS for post graduation. For gate qualified candidates fees is 1000rs and for all other candidates fees if 3300rs. They BITS HD registration is still open till 27th april 2020. BITS HD will be conducted on 16th may and 23rd may. It is an online exam.

I hope this answer will help.
All the best for the future!!

gate score 388, gate marks 36.35(General category) in Civil Engineering . B.tech percentage-78%. can i get any iit with this score or any nit chances.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 8th Apr, 2020

Hello,

With such score it is difficult to get seat in any IITs or NITs considering previous year cut off trends.Your GATE score must be atleast 650 or above to have decent chances of getting a seat in any IIT or NIT.So this year with such score you may not get seat in IIT or NIT.

You can predict the colleges in which you may get seat by using our GATE college predictor

My GATE score is 46.is their any chance to get a seat in NITs or IITs.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 28th Feb, 2020

hi,

cutoff changes year to year and depends on various factors like number of participants, seat matrix, questions difficulty leel etc. you have not mentioned your stream , at this score you have less chances for iits, you have decent chances for north east nits, I suggest you to try for some other exams if you are really interested to do mtech . some of the exams you may apply for buts hd, vitmee etc.

Hey Brother,

You forgot to specify your M.Tech branch (CS,ECE,EE,ME,CE etc.)

I think you got 46 marks out of 100 in GATE Exam . Gate score is calculated from 1000.

Please specify your GATE branch

I didnt qualified in gate exam.can i get admission in NIT or IIT

Anantika Kushwaha 28th Feb, 2020
Hello,

You need to qualify GATE with a satisfactory score, for getting admission in IIT or NITs for MTech program. However there are other ways to get into IIT as well.

If you have a CGPA of 8 and higher in BTech, then you'll have to give written test followed by an interview to get admission in IIT for MTech without GATE.

You can also pursue PhD from IIT.

You can also opt for a part time/sponsored program for MTech/MS (Research).
