HI.. I am in Third yr Engg, How to start of with preparation for GATE, and cut off for ECE branch.

ABHISHEK KUMAR RAI 4th Dec, 2019

Hello,

GATE- Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering

For GATE Preparation, firstly, you have to know the Syllabus of GATE for your branch. When you get your syllabus for GATE, then start studying with making notes because it helps when you need to revise it. Some subjects of the pre-final year are essential for GATE so, study those Subjects very carefully and sincerely. Solve previous years GATE question papers and ask your doubts to your Teachers and Seniors. Give some mock test of GATE online. If college studies are not enough for you, then I will suggest you join any Distance Learning Program of good and Reputed Academies like MADE EASY, The GATE Academy, GATE GURU, etc. Along with all these, you have also need to study and improve your Aptitude, Numerical Ability, and Verbal ability.

here I'm providing you a link where you get the detailed Information of cutoffs for ECE branch - https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/gate-cutoff-for-ece

Why iit delhi was gate cutof is high for civil engineering in 2012 2004 1998 33 marks

Harshita Gupta 3rd Jan, 2020
Hey,

There are various factors affecting the GATE cut-off score. Now, if we talk about the IITs, the cut-off depends on the number of applications they receive for admissions, the number of seats available and the category of the students applying. So, if the cut-off is high, it means that the competition is high. The number of applicants is high, and therefore they keep the cut-off high.

So, in 2012,2004 and 1998 (as you mentioned), the cut-off were high in civil engineering in IIT Delhi because maybe too many applications were filled for registration and the number of seats must have been less comparatively. Basically, cut-off is just a way of screening candidates based on score.

Hope this helps!

I am an aspirant of Gate 2021 CE. But, want to give the paper of 2020. My 3 subjects are very strong (given topicwise & subjectwise tests on it) but am average in the other 3 subjects. Should I first complete the Topicwise & Subjectwise first of those 3 subjects or directly jump in the Full Paper?

Saurabh 23rd Nov, 2019
I think you should attempt the 2020 GATE entrance. So you can get the of where you stand in the all over India.
As per guidelines, there is no attempt limit or limit barrier.you can evaluate yourself by giving an upcoming exam.
You have 2 months in your pocket try to study high marks subject from the remaining 3. Revise the 1st 3 subjets and Do solve the MCQ and give a mock test before exam.
Best luck.
