Yes, You can attempt for both Gre and Gate but Don't waste your time in preparing for both exams and Just Stick to one of the exam and prepare well and if you want to do MS then give Gre exam and if you Want to do

For your 270 score in gate, if you belong to general category then you have very low chances of getting NITs for pursuing Mtech in any NITs. So you need to get good score next time for NITs or IITs or you can settle with low grade college.

Sorry to say but with this score you can't get any government universities. Only you can try for private universities. Even top private universities are will not come with this score.You can get some private universities like iem,uem,techno group etc.Best of luck .
