can I change my stream from commerce to science after 10th icse

nisarga cp 19th Jul, 2020

Hi Arnold Roy,

You have studied commerce in 10th ICSE then you cannot opt for taking science in 11th and 12th because you don't have basic knowledge of sciece. Though it is very difficult you will be not allowed to take science.

However if u really want to switch you can opt for IB(INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE) instead of 11th and 12th and do science subjects as major in it.

Or else you can even opt for business mathematics that will help you to treat commerce at par with science.

ALL THE BEST.

Hello. Is it necessary to get your puc study certificate counter signed? i studied in ICSE board for 10 years and 2 years in PU board

Raza Imam 24th Aug, 2020

You need PUC study certificate. It’s format is there in CET e-brochure and also in the brochure which you got after your chemistry exam.

My friend contacted a KEA official, he said that no need to counter sign the PUC study certificate by BEO.[only puc study certificate, you have to countersign your primary and highschool study certificate by BEO].

She even asked BEO to sign the PUC study certificate, so that she wanted to go in a safe way, but BEO refused to sign and said no need to sign the study certificate.

What to do after 12th? I had 85% in Class 10th ICSE board. But I got a mere 71% in ISC board for 10+2 without maths. I am not good in science but I am great in Computer. I am confident in my programming skills. I know C, C++, C#, Java and Python as well. I can do moderate to advanced programming.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 14th Jul, 2020

Hi,

Your academic score is good, but since you do not have mathematics in 12th course, which makes you not eligible for apply for many science related stream, since you are interested in programming , there is 3 bachelors course which lead you to programming career.

1. b.e/b.tech course

2. bsc in computer science

3. bachelor in computer application.

to study engineering you must have studied mathematics as a subject in 10+2 course. to appear in jee main or any other state level engineering entrance test you must have studied physics , chemistry, and mathematics as a subject.

now coming to bsc in computer science program, as for majority of colleges admission criteria you must have studied mathematics as a subject in 10+2 level.

even for bca course some of the university takes admission irrespective of  any stream students of 10+2 course. like lovely professional university offers bachelor in computer application course, eligibility criteria is candidates must have studied 12th course from a recognized education board with English as a subject in 10+2 course level. so I suggest you to go for Bachelor in computer application scope. bca course holders who has good programming skills has wide job scope in mncs and startup companies, you may also go for master of computer application course after completing bca for better career growth.

some of the best bca colleges in india,

Christ University, Bangalore

SRM University, Chennai

Institute of Management Studies, Noida

Lovely professional university, Punjab.

Guru Gobind Indraprastha University. New Delhi

Indra Gandhi National open university.

Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi

Madras Christian College (Chennai)

Birla Institute of Technology (Jharkhand)

Kristu jayanthi college(Bangalore)

Women’s Christian College (Chennai)

Presidency College (Bangalore)

University College-Kurukshetra (Kurukshetra)

hope it would help.

I want to get into ivy league for neuroscience / psychology after 12th . Should I go in for icse or cbse if english is not an issue .Or should I choose a dummy school?

Aniket Prasad 19th Aug, 2020

Hello,

If English is not an issue or even if it is an issue, I would recommend you to please choose schooling over any other options.

Ivy League colleges don't judge you only based on your SAT Scores, they also see how proactive and curious you are. What all you can offer as a person. So with schooling you will find many worthy opportunities and activities to prove your mantle. All these will ultimately help in your college application.

So, be it CBSE or ICSE, do CHOOSE schooling.

Talking about personal opinion, I would go for CBSE due to their being a whole lot of people to compete nation wide and number of competition and national level contests to participate into.

I have got 82.8 % in ICSE BOARD Class 10th.In which feild I will do better in preparation of IAS Or rather join India army . I want your opinion

Aditya 29th Jun, 2021

Hii student,

82.2% is actually a good percentage from ICSE BOARDS. You can pursue both the career options. One of the best way to join Indian Army is through NDA examination that you can appear, just after completing your higher secondary education. You can be an IAS officer by cracking UPSC examination but will need to complete your graduation first to appear for the same.

Both has bright prospects and gives you a chance to serve the nation.

Best of luck for your future.

Hope it helps!!

Shivendra1 6th Jul, 2020

No it would be very hard for you to pass the jee main, as major course that comes in jee main is of 11th isc ,topic are same but in deep, I prefer you to go for either graduation like BA Bsc. throughothrough government college or go for engineering in private college and also apply for state college admissions examination like UPSEE if you are in Uttar Pradesh

Wanted to know how the ICSE board is planning to do the evaluation for the 6th subject, as my sister has appeared this year and we are all worried

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 27th Jun, 2020

ICSE board has submitted in the Supreme Court that it would broadly follow the CBSE Board's decision on conducting the remaining exams in the country or giving students the option to not to physically appear for the 10th, 12th Board exams this year. The Supreme Court has clarified that ICSE Board is at the liberty to tweak the CBSE decision and follow its own informed decision. This means results will be declared based on the assessment of the past performance of the students in internals conducted by various ICSE schools. According to the official press release available at: https://cisce.org//UploadedFiles/PDF/Press%20Release_26.6.2020.pdf (https://cisce.org/UploadedFiles/PDF/Press%20Release_26.6.2020.pdf) , The details of the methodology to be adopted by the CISCE will be released within a  week.
