I am entered after 12 in iim ? I am studying GSCB .

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 27th Feb, 2022

Hi

To get admission in MBA in IIMs, you need to be at least a graduate so you cannot directly join IIM for MBA after your class 12th.

For your reference

Eligibility criteria of CAT which is the entrance examination to get admission in mba in IIMs is given below:

To be eligible for CAT ,

  • you need a  Bachelor's/graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university .

  • you must have got  at least 50 per cent marks or equivalent CGPA in your graduation . SC/ST/PH students need only at least 45 percentage in Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline to be eligible .

  • Candidates who are in the final year of their graduation are also eligible for CAT examination.

  • There is no age restriction to be  eligible

  • It is not mandatory to have work experience to be eligible

For detailed information go through

https://bschool.careers360.com/exams/cat

So,

After you 12 you need to do graduation in order to be eligible for CAT  and get admission in IIMs for mba.

But yes,

If you don't want to wait for doing graduation then yes you can definitely get admission in IIMs directly after your class 12th but for 5 year integrated management program and not for 2 year MBA .

Is it possible to get a chance in any renowned (Tier 1/2) MBA institutions (Except IIMs) through management quota?

ayanmukherjee045 31st Jan, 2022

Dear aspirant,

It's very difficult to tell about the management quota in the colleges because these things are very personal and private to all the B-schools and they won't  disclose it openly.

But there are many b schools which offer management quota not necessarily tier 1 but yes they are from tier 2 and you can get the seat.

During the Personal Interview for an IIM, if I reveal that my career goal is primarily to expand my family business, will it create a hurdle for my chances of selection ?

Rituparna Priyadarshini 12th Jan, 2022

Hello

When you are appearing for an interview you need to focus on answering the questions in a way that help increase your chance in getting accepted. You should focus more on answering in a way that shows your enthusiasm for the course and the college. It is fine if you say you want to expand your family business. ayanmukherjee045 10th Jan, 2022

Dear aspirant,

As you have secured 92 percentile and have 1 year of work experience so let me tell you that there are some iims like ranchi , rohtak, Amritsar but it depends on the cut offs which further depends on certain factors like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
