i got 868 sc prep rank. Can i get any iit for preparatory courses

sheemaashraf123 24th Oct, 2021

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS category is lower than the general category
However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp

Igor 82 percintle in jee and rank 1.6 lack, obc, of Telangana state. which IITs or gftis , should I go for

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 20th Oct, 2021

Hi

As per your percentile, I am guess1. 6 lakh is your crl.

Admission in IITs is through Jee advanced and not jee main dear

It's quite difficult to predict because cutoff keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

******number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

****** number of available seats,

****** performance of different students in the examination,

****** the category you belong etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

You have low chances in  GFTIs in josaa counselling but you have chances in some of the GFTIs in csab counselling which are listed below along with the link for their previous year cut off  :-

------) Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal ( in csab counselling) :- https://www.careers360.com/university/sant-longowal-institute-of-engineering-and-technology-longowal/cut-off

-------) Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur( in csab counselling)  :- https://www.careers360.com/university/guru-ghasidas-vishwavidyalaya-bilaspur/cut-off

------) Assam University, Silchar ( in csab counselling) :- https://www.careers360.com/university/assam-university-silchar/cut-off

And a few more

This prediction of colleges is  based of past year data but  cut off or closing rank changes every year depending upon many factors like the number of students that give the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main  for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

my sc preparatory rank is 1232 will I get preparatory course in New iits

Sharon Rose Student Expert 20th Oct, 2021

Hello,

With the given rank it is quite difficult to get seat in old or new IIT. You may not get admission in to IIT under SC Gender-neutral category with the given preparatory rank but you may get seat under SC (Female) category in limited IITs like

  • Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi: Bioengineering with M.Tech in Biomedical Technology
  • Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad: Applied Geology

This is based on the previous year cut off in Round 6 of JoSAA counselling. Cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on factors such as total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. So it may increase or decrease this year based on above mentioned factors.

I have qualified JEE ADVANCED with sc preparatory course of rank 1085. Do I have a chance of getting into good IITs?

SREYASHI SEN 19th Oct, 2021

Hello there, student.

With this rank, you have a high chance of getting into IIITs and GFTIs, and engineering colleges in the north eastern NITs have a chance of getting into top NITs. So, using the URL below, you can check the college predictor and construct a list of colleges for your josaa counselling 2020. So, you may utilise the website I've provided to find out what your odds are. Further, if you did not receive any admission in the josaa counselling, I recommend that you attend the CSAB special rounds.

my rank jee mains 1747 and advance rank 4180 which is better nit warngal cse or old iits oter branches or new iits all branches

Rohith Miryala 19th Oct, 2021

Hello Student,

Let me clear you a point. Before freezing options for any college make sure you are interested in the branch and later think about the college you want to go for. Because at last all the knowledge you gain is from the branch you have selected. If you are confusing between colleges then make sure you refer the comparing colleges link below:

https://www.careers360.com/compare-colleges

Using this link you will be able to compare upto 4 colleges at a time. Coming to your Rank and options you have I would say to go for NIT Warangal.

Because your JEE Mains Rank is comparatively good. As Computer science seat is offered. It is better to go for it. But, This is my suggestion and the final call is yours. Preferred Branch is the Vital thing.

If you wish to know about JEE Mains colleges :

Hope this clears your doubt..
