How much marks does a SC student should score for ima entrance exam in order to get admission

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 25th Sep, 2020

Hey Rahul

i assume that you are talking about the Indian Military Academy which you can join via CDS SSB after graduation or through tech entry after 12th. Since you have not mentioned which entry you were referring to I am going to assume that you were talking about CDS. In CDS there is no reservation of seats based on caste hence the marks needed to be scored is the same for general and an sc student that is more or less around:

For OTA (WOMEN) the expected cut off is 92
For OTA (MEN) the expected cut off is 92
For Navy the expected cut off is 115
For Air Force the expected cut off is 100
For Army the expected cut off is 115

Sir / Madam , I got selected for NIZAM College (HYD) and University of Hyderabad (IMA). I have a lot of confusion to choose between both of them. Please suggest me a better college...!

iammohdshareef 25th Oct, 2020
Both the college's are very and very good. Both the college's have a very good reputation, ratings as well as reviews. Nizam college and university of Hyderabad is undoubtedly are very prestigious college's.

Now here if you are comparing Colleges for education, placement then you can go for any if the College.

If you are comparing Colleges on environmen then I would suggest you to choose university of Hyderabad. Even Nizam is located in very good environment and has large ground but university of Hyderabad is more attractive and beautiful.

I want to know the difference of job profile between IMA & OTA....?

Apoorva Student Expert 29th Aug, 2020

Hello dear student, so as you have asked for the difference between IMA which is Indian military academy and OTA which is officers training academy. There is a huge difference between these two as Indian military academy says the Moto which is valour and wisdom while the OTA which is officers training academy motto is serve with honour.

Now in Indian military academy cadets go through a rigorous training approximately for 1 year and after successfully completing the training gc gets into the army as a permanent commissioned officer.

Why now in officers training academy it is well equipped to train officers for counter insurgency operations giving a real jungle lane shooting range and grenade lobbing area.

I hope this helps

Thank you

why there is mathematical exam in CDS for addmission in IMA and no mathematics exam in CDS for admmision in OTA

Sahil Kaushal 17th Jul, 2020

Hi N Rahim Kumar,

IMA trains officers for a long 20 year assignment with Indian army. OTA trains men and women officers for short service commission. Also its kind of option to the people who didn't studied mathematics as their main subject during school days to get into defence forces.

if you want to spend twenty years as an officer, opt for IMA. Its in Dehradun. But if you want to experience a short term with army and then decide whether you want to extend subsequently, OTA will be your option.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 22nd Jun, 2020

Hello,

You have four attempts left that is CDS-2 2020, CDS-1 2021, CDS-2 2021, CDS-1 2022. For IMA in CDS 2-2020 the age eligibility is that candidate must not born not earlier than 2nd July, 1997 and not later than 1st , 2002 only are eligible. For  CDS 1-2021 the age eligibility will be that candidate must not born not earlier than 2nd January, 1998 and not later than 1st January, 2003 only are eligible. For  CDS 2-2021 the age eligibility will be that candidate must not born not earlier than 2nd July, 1998 and not later than 1st July, 2003 only are eligible.  For  CDS 1-2022 the age eligibility will be that candidate must not born not earlier than 2nd January, 1999 and not later than 1st January, 2004 only are eligible.

For CDS 2-2022 the age eligibility will be that candidate must not born not earlier than 2nd July, 1999 and not later than 1st January, 2004 only are eligible. You will not fulfill the eligibility criteria for CDS-2 2022. Thus you have four chances left.
