Why there is high fees for MBA in IIMS??? How people came from poor can bear this??? Is there any scholarships provided by IIMS of India??

Preyas_Verma Student Expert 22nd Jul, 2019

Hello Sai,

There are many scholarships and some financial aid present for students in IIMs. Here are some of them -

All PGP students with annual household income below INR 6,00,000 are eligible to apply for financial aid. Other students with severe financial difficulties arising from sudden unforeseen circumstances are also considered.

Aditya Birla Scholarship, OPJEMS Scholarship, Citi Women’s Leader Award, Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship, Siddhartha Padam Award and more.

Hope this helps.

Which institute is best for MBA...IITS or IIMS????

ym.matlani_6504227 Student Expert 22nd Jul, 2019

dear candidate,

IIM's are top-notch and brand name for doing MBA but it depends upon which IIM you go for. the fee structure of IIM is higher than IIT and some IIT are better than newer IIM and the return on investment is better in IIT. also some iit colleges have their alias name in the list like iit bombay, madras etc

i am adding the link for top management colleges in india with ranking

I got 8.4 cgpa in 10th and 75% in 12th and 61% in bba what are chances for getting a call from iim ??

Amy Student Expert 21st Jul, 2019

Hello,

With your academic performance, you will not have chances for IIM Allahabad and IIM Bangalore. For IIM Calcutta and the newer IIMs, your chances depend on your CAT percentile. If you have a 99.5+ percentile, you have chances to get a call depending on the competition. Also, you need to have a good reason for your academics as that will be asked in the PI round. Hope for the best.

I am in class 11th (Comm) and my future goal is getting into IIM for which Ill have to crack CAT so how can I start prep for it now onwards

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 20th Jul, 2019
Hello,
CAT checks the general aptitude of a candidate in maths, problem solving english language and general awareness.
Although its too early to start specifically for CAT, but you can work upon skills required to crack the same.
I'll suggest you to start reading any good english newspaper daily and also get into habit of reading good books. This wipl increase your knowledge and language skills substantially.
Also take active part in co curricular activities in school and college.
Later on in ypur 3rd or final year you can start dedicated preparation for CAT.

sir i have done a open degree. am i eligible for doing M.B.A in IIM and B-schools

Shreya Singh Student Expert 19th Jul, 2019

Dear student, open degree from a college recognised by UGC is perfectly valid in India everywhere. So, you can definitely apply for CAT and get into IIMs and other top B-schools. It will be just that you would have a lower edge in terms of degree at the time of counselling and you will have to be extra smart to prove your worth.

Sir I have 63% in 12 and 89 in graduation and if I score 99.8% in Cat can I get call from IIM trichy or Kozhikode Im sc

snigdha.sharan19_9176762 Student Expert 18th Jul, 2019

Hi Deepan,

Yes there are good chances that you may get a call from IIMK or IIM Trichy or any other new IIMs for that matter. You can also get a call from IIM Indore. These colleges use CAT percentile for shortlisting candidates for PI & WAT, along with 10th, 12th, graduation and work ex details. You do have good chances.

Good Luck

i want to crack CAT for IIM for doing MBA . is b.a from eco & history can help for this or not ???

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 18th Jul, 2019

You can take up any course in graduation. If you perform well in your graduation and succeed in getting a 95+ percentile in CAT you can definitely get an IIM.

Moreover your graduation syllabus, if you take economics as your subject, will be really helpful in your MBA studies as your prior knowledge will help in your management studies.

But you can take history also. This won't make much difference in getting into an IIM. Just perform well in both academics and CAT.

All the very best

Hii aspirant,Coming to your question I would like to tell you that the IIM criteria for admission in the top management institute at present there are 20 ions in the country , so you must fullfill the eligibility criteria to write the exam and hope for the best the basic elligibility criteria for the cat exam is -

  • He must have a bachelor degree with atlest 50%marks
  • The final year students can also apply.

It is important to note that different IIMS give the different weightage  to the cat score , academic cutoff, work experience etc.

So just give your best in the cat exam , just focus to score a good percentile.

Hope this helps you , feel free to ask if you still had a Doubt.

Hello! I scored 63% in HSLC (State Board), 67% in HS (State) and 7.67 CGPA (Mechanical Eng.) so, whatre my chances of getting into an IIM?

varunprathore442_6159888 Student Expert 16th Jul, 2019

Hello  P D,

Your scores are good. Talking about the IIM admission then there are various categories for which they give preference like working experience, good previous year academic records etc. Speaking frankly then its close to impossible to get into IIM AHMEDABAD. But don't loose your heart as you can still get into IIM INDORE, IIM LUCKNOW, IIM KOZHIKKODE etc. But you need to work exceptionally good and must have a percentile of above 97% in CAT. if you have some category like SC/ST or OBC then try to get 89% or above in CAT.

I hope you will find my answer helpful.

All the best.
