dear candidate,
IIM's are top-notch and brand name for doing MBA but it depends upon which IIM you go for. the fee structure of IIM is higher than IIT and some IIT are better than newer IIM and the return on investment is better in IIT. also some iit colleges have their alias name in the list like iit bombay, madras etc
i am adding the link for top management colleges in india with ranking

Hello,
With your academic performance, you will not have chances for IIM Allahabad and IIM Bangalore. For IIM Calcutta and the newer IIMs, your chances depend on your CAT percentile. If you have a 99.5+ percentile, you have chances to get a call depending on the competition. Also, you need to have a good reason for your academics as that will be asked in the PI round. Hope for the best.
Dear student, open degree from a college recognised by UGC is perfectly valid in India everywhere. So, you can definitely apply for CAT and get into IIMs and other top B-schools. It will be just that you would have a lower edge in terms of degree at the time of counselling and you will have to be extra smart to prove your worth.
Hi Deepan,
Yes there are good chances that you may get a call from IIMK or IIM Trichy or any other new IIMs for that matter. You can also get a call from IIM Indore. These colleges use CAT percentile for shortlisting candidates for PI & WAT, along with 10th, 12th, graduation and work ex details. You do have good chances.
Good Luck
You can take up any course in graduation. If you perform well in your graduation and succeed in getting a 95+ percentile in CAT you can definitely get an IIM.
Moreover your graduation syllabus, if you take economics as your subject, will be really helpful in your MBA studies as your prior knowledge will help in your management studies.
But you can take history also. This won't make much difference in getting into an IIM. Just perform well in both academics and CAT.
All the very best
Hii aspirant,Coming to your question I would like to tell you that the IIM criteria for admission in the top management institute at present there are 20 ions in the country , so you must fullfill the eligibility criteria to write the exam and hope for the best the basic elligibility criteria for the cat exam is -
It is important to note that different IIMS give the different weightage to the cat score , academic cutoff, work experience etc.
So just give your best in the cat exam , just focus to score a good percentile.
Hope this helps you , feel free to ask if you still had a Doubt.
Good luck.
Hii aspirant ,
Coming to your question I would like to tell you that your BSC certificate is acceptable for the admission in the iim the Elligibility for the iim is that you must have a bachelor's degree with a percentage of 50% atlest in your graduation that's it .
Hope this helps you,
Hello P D,
Your scores are good. Talking about the IIM admission then there are various categories for which they give preference like working experience, good previous year academic records etc. Speaking frankly then its close to impossible to get into IIM AHMEDABAD. But don't loose your heart as you can still get into IIM INDORE, IIM LUCKNOW, IIM KOZHIKKODE etc. But you need to work exceptionally good and must have a percentile of above 97% in CAT. if you have some category like SC/ST or OBC then try to get 89% or above in CAT.
I hope you will find my answer helpful.
All the best.
