OV:86.9 percentile, QA:81.98, VA 85.49, LRDI 85.55. class X -96.5%,class 12 -96%. Is there any chance to get into a good college?

manisha.gupta 7th Jan, 2019

Based on this CAT percentile as a General Category the chances are less to get a call from any IIMs. But you can have the chances for the colleges.

Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi

FORE School of Management, New Delhi

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai (PGDM Two-Year Programme)

Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad

K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai

MISB Bocconi, Mumbai

National Institute of Banking & Management, Pune etc.

You can also use CAT Pathfinder Tool to check your other possibilities.

After CAT exam every college in which you have applied prepares a merit list for the next round to call the students of interview based on your aggregate score on various parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and Graduation percentage, Work Experience etc. whose weightage varies for all different colleges.

Good Luck!

Will we get called from non iim institutes as well through CAT scores, or will we have to apply separately in a different selection process?

Smit Parmar 7th Jan, 2019

You will have to apply for them. Most probably all good Bschools in tier 1-2-3 category of the country have separate forms on their official websites. These forms have to be filled and then you have to wait for their cutoff emails or calls. Once you get that you've to go through the GD-PI-Wat process.

I hope this helps!!

My son is in plus 2.he can secure admission in NIT through JEE mains. He also appearing IPM -- in IIM kanpur.which course is best.

Rohit Roy 12th Dec, 2018
Hi Aspirant,
If the college(in this case NIT) is one of the top NIT's of the country, then definitely it is better.
In a nutshell,an average NIT is also better than IPM if you look at the overall reliability.
Hope this helps.
