Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
Hello Rohith, Greetings!
Well there are many other ways to get into IISC other than KVPY. They are listed below:
1. Bachelor of Science (Research) programme: You get into IISC by by qualifying JEE Advanced with top rank to get in core courses of Physics, Chemical or Mathematics.
2. M.Tech/M.Tech (Research): The only exam is GATE and rank varies from year to year depending on the department and number of vacancies/students applied.
3. M.Des: This is 2 years Master’s program in Design. Admission is made through two exams CEED & GATE.
4. M.Mgmt: This course is similar to an MBA (with a focus on Data Science) and there are two exams for getting admission into this course CAT & GMAT.
Besides you can pursue Ph.D by submitting research papers in IISC.
Thank you, hope this helps.
Hey Aspirant!
Every year 40k-50k students apply for kvpy and around 3.3 k people got selected in KVPY written exam, and 2.9K got selected in the interview round.
It's just a vague guess, because it all depends on the number of students that apply for this exam, and the ones who get scholarships. Also, their reservation criterias and their intelligence.
Best of luck!
Hi Dinkar,
Please mention about the course you are looking for. The eligibility is different for different courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You need to pass certain examinations like JEE, GATE, KVPY etc. Ideally, it does not matter whether you are a dropout as long as you fulfil all eligibility conditions and the qualifying examinations. You need to have a really good score though to get into this reputed institution.
All the best.
Hey gaurav.
Admission in IISC Bangalore in the BS ie Bachelors in Science course is done based on 3 channels- JEE Mains, JEE Advanved and KVPY. Hence separate merit list is prepared based on each candidate who has applied based on their scores in either JEE Mains, Advanced, KVPY. You need a minimum of 60% marks in qualifying exam to be eligible for admission here. The application process for the same might start in the month of February.
