Can I get seat in iisc with OBC rank 60000

laxmi saro hembrom 10th Jun, 2019

Hi Naveen,

In IISC, this year cut off for OBC is 5000, I don't think you will get seat in this Institute. As every year they only take few students and their cut off is less. Here is the link where you can find about cut off :

https://www.careers360.com/college-predictor At these marks there is no chance to get admission in any govt college like NIT or Gfit At these marks your general rank will be upto near 3lakh and at this rank you will not be able to get admission in govt college but i will give you a suggestion to get admission in best state government college of India if you given the paper of JEE mains and secured rank upto 5lakh and 12th percentage is good then you can take admission in any govt college by state counselling hope you understand

Can I write kvpy after 12th without joining in any college to enter into IISc Bangalore?

Adarsh Verma 6th Jun, 2019
Hi Reshma,
To write KVPY after 12th, you must have to be enrolled in any undergraduate program in 1st year. This is compulsory to be eligible for writing the exam in th SB category. So, its better to take admission in any college and then prepare for it. To check detailed information regarding the eligibility of KVPY 2019-20, check the official website. Here's the link:

Good luck!

How much rank I should get in jee advanced to join iisc and iist thiruvananthapuram.

rishabritab100_9306688 Student Expert 4th Jun, 2019

Hi ! You should expect a high rank to get an admission in either IIST or at IISC. To get IISC you must have a rank within 500 in JEE advance (although they prefer JEE main students with rank between 1-250 ) and to get IIST you must have a rank between 3000-5000. Hope you understand and best of luck to you.

Can I know about the courses at IISc bangalore and the eligibility

mansiprofessional234 Student Expert 4th Jun, 2019

Hey ,

You can check the list of all the courses available at IISC , bangalore by following the given link :

https://www.careers360.com/university/indian-institute-of-science-bangalore/courses

Since you are in 12th grade , you will be interested in knowing only the eligibility of UG courses i.e. B.tech in different branches. So the eligibility criteria for all the UG courses there , is 10+2 passed from a recognized board with a minimum of 60% with physics , chemistry and maths as main subjects.

Hope it helps!
