Rahul Gupta 14th Feb, 2019

Hello candidate,

According to your marks you should be eligible for PSU and will be offered an interview chance. It will also depend on the post that you are applying for and the companies that you want to join. Also keep a track of other eligibility criteria of the PSUs such as age, marks, etc.

Follow the below link for more information about PSUs that take admission through GATE:

Is Bsc Research equivalent to Bsc Biochemistry?

Sentila Longkumer 14th Feb, 2019

Hey, thank you for contacting us. Bsc Research is not equivalent to BSc Biochemistry. It is a part of it. B.Sc research means a degree in a bachelor with research program included. They do their degree as well do their research in their own field. It is like doing research on your honours paper. B.Sc biochemistry is like any other Bachelor degree. I hope this helped.

best wishes

Deepshikha Student Expert 11th Feb, 2019
Well, yes you are eligible to pursue Bachelor's in Astronomy from IISC.For that, you need to clear JEE Advance with minimum 60% marks for General,54% for OBC Non creamy layer and for SC/ST 30%and then only you can fill its online form.Once your application form is accepted and your marks obtained in the Advance is known to the Institute then you are  placed in order or merit and if your marks matches
with the required cutoff  admission will be given.

Can i apply for iisc Bangalore if programme in 2019 if it have completed my class 12 the in 2017?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 10th Feb, 2019

Dear Madhavi, IISC, Bangalore offers admissions in its Undergraduate programmes through JEE Mains, JEE Advanced and KVPY. The Academic criteria says that you should have your 10+2 or its equivalent in 2018. Candidates currently in their 10+2 and likely to pass in 2019 are also eligible to apply. So unfortunately, you are not eligible unless you have appeared in KVPY-SA in 2017 and qualified for the fellowship.

Which non engineering course is best in IISC for Mechanical Engineering...If the gate score is low?

NIKHILA M SANTHOSHLAL 14th Feb, 2019

Hey Sourabh,

The following are the list of non-engineering courses available at IISc. Since you have given GATE Score as low, I am adding the cutoff of 2018 (For General Category) so that you can cross check with your marks.

M.Tech

1. Earth Science - 575

Research Programmes

1. Inorganic and Physical Chemistry - 450

2. Computational Science - 550

3. Mathematical Sciences - 550

4. Earth Science - 565

5. Molecular Biophysics Unit - 580

6. Instrumentation and Applied Physics - 600

7. Sustainable Technologies - 625

8. Water Research - 625

9. Divelcha Centre for Climate Change - 625

10. Centre for Neuroscience - 650

11. Management Studies - 650

12. Centre for High Energy Physics - 687

For Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, you need to have basics of the same.

For Computation Science, you need to know the area of Mathematics and Programming.

Hope this helps you. Feel free to ask if you have any doubts. All the Best.
