which is important for admission at iist ? jee(adv) mark or percentile?

Anurag Khanna 1st Dec, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

See if you want to get B.Tech. course into IIST then you have to appear for JEE-Advance and should have secured the minimum cut-off marks to be eligible for admission to any institution even in IIST through JEE-Advance score. But note that just qualifying the cut-off marks does not ensure your admission in any institution because admission are based on ranks allotted to each candidate on the basis of his/her marks scored in JEE-Advance.

For detailed process for admission in IIST kindly check out the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Hello Candidate,

If you want to get very good marks from your self preparation in IIT-JEE, then it needs full dedication and hard work. If you can't afford offline coachings due to money issue, then don't worry. You can use online resources like You Tube . Some very experienced teachers provide their video lectures of IIT-JEE for free. So use them. Some tips for preparation are given below.

  • Start with NCERT first. Only then move to some other good books.
  • Choose the Right Reference Books.
  • Learn Online.
  • Revise Daily and Clear Doubts.
  • Solve JEE Previous year question papers
  • Solve Mock Tests
  • Make short notes for revision.

How many mark are sufficient for jee advanced for get admission in iist For sc what is the cutoff

Swarnima Singh 22nd Nov, 2020

Hi aspirant!!

Hope you doing great. There are three factors you have to keep in mind when you talk about the cut-off marks for IIST

1–75% in class 12th

2–20% in jee advanced.

3-At least 5% per subject .

And it's also depend on the difficulty of jee advance paper. Some time when paper is easy you have to score around 200 above for IIST and if paper is difficult you have score 150 or above.

Further information you can check the link

iist TRIVANDRUM has cutoff percentage of jee advanced is 30 to 47 % (2018)then why I have to score 180 marks as by scoring 180 marks I would take reputed iits. it is possible to get a seat in iist TRIVANDRUM by scoring 120 marks also please tell me correct option

Abhishek Roy 14th Nov, 2020

For General Category, the IIST Trivandrum Aerospace, Avionics and Electronics cutoffs go no less than 35% in JEE Advanced  which takes your score almost around 125 in the exam. At this Marks, and considering current trends you can expect a Rank of 8k.

Aerospace and Avionics unlike other branches is usually chosen by students interested in this subject and its applications in the space and aeronautical industry and in organizations like ISRO, Airbus, Boeing and so on. Aerospace Engineering is kot in many IITs. Cutoffs at Top IITs like Bombay, Madras, Kanpur and Kharagpur range between 2-4k. Hence after IITs, most students in the 3-10k range in General Category opt for IIST Trivandrum for achieving in depth education in Aerospace and Avionics Studies with constant mentoring and projects by ISRO and Department of Space, Government of India.

what can I do to join iist TRIVANDRUM in aerospace engineering branch as per obc category , and how many marks. needed to get into it through jee advanced some were saying that 300 score, some were saying 200 and some were saying 180 and someone saying 120 some were saying rank above 1500 what can I

sowji.guntupu 12th Nov, 2020

Hello student,

To get a seat in Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandrum , you need to qualify the jee advanced with minimum marks of 180 or above and a rank below 1500 based on the category you fall in as OBC. For qualifying in JEE advanced you need to practice for the exam regularly, give mock tests, be self-motivated. And problem regarding the cutoff ranks and marks is due to regularly changing cutoffs for every college, every year. So it is hard to predict the exact marks and rank.
