In 2019 a candidate with rank 308 belonging to OBC category secured seat in B.Tech Aerospace Engineering in Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. So you need to secure rank within 300 to have decent chances because cut of changes every year depending on number of candidates appeared, difficulty of exam and number of seats available. You need to score minimum 30%-35% of total score in JEE advanced.

The process of getting into IIST for B.Tech/B.E/Dual degree programmes is only through Jee advanced score.You cannot get admisision into this college through mains you have to attempt advanced and score accordingly in advanced. Based on the jee scores you have to apply seperately through IIST portal the the college will release the rank list and the students will be able to keep the preference and choice filling of the branches.Candidates will be offered admissions to Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram on the basis of seat allotment and seat acceptance, verification of documents and payment of fees.

IIST offers admission on the basis of scores of national level exams for like JEE Main, JEE Advance, GATE, JEST, UGC NET etc. No entrance test will be organized by the institution for admission into the courses.
