Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
Hi Karan ! IIEST as well as IIST both are one of the best government colleges in India. IIST focuses on b.tech on space technology and space related technologies and it is Thiruvananthapuram Kerala. In the mean time IIEST is in west Bengal and it ranks 23rd in nirf ranking whereas the former rank within 30-36. One can get quality education and placement from these colleges. But IIST admit students through JEE advance but IIEST admit students through JEE main. But yes not every stream is good in IIEST, that is CSE,ECE, electrical, aeronautical are good here. So best of luck to you.

Hello Alfiya!
You can't avoid staying in hostel while studying in iist. You have to stay in the campus .You will pay 48400 Rs fees which includes all the charges.
Hope it answer your concerns.
Dear Mukesh,
To get admission in iist you need to keep in mind the following points:
Candidates must clear the JEE Advanced exam.
General category candidates must score at least 20% marks in JEE Advanced i.e 72 marks out of 360 and at least 6 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects
OBC-NCL candidates must score at least 65 marks out of 360 marks and 5 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects
SC, ST & PD candidates must score at 10% marks i.e 36 marks out of 360 and 3 marks out of 120 in each of the three subjects.
The number of seats reserved for different categories is:
Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
Persons with Disabilities (PD): 5% (Horizontal Reservation
Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 27%
So basically I would say your rank must be below 8000 if you are a general category student.
Hope this helps!
All the best!
There is no fees for studying if you score 7.5 cgpa in any semester. If you do not then you have to pay 48400 Rs fees in that semester. This is valid for general and obc candidate. If any sc candidate score 6 .5 cgpa then he will not have to pay any fees in that semester otherwise he have to pay 48400 Rs fees.
