Hi
Last year the cutoff percentage for OBC NCL Candidates for the following programmes in IIST Thiruvananthpuram were as follows:
B.Tech. ( Aerospace Engineering ) - 47.78% to 30.28%
B.Tech. ( Electronics and Communication ) - 33.05% to 27.22%
Dual Degree (B.Tech. + Master of Science/Master of Technology) - 33.33% to 26.11%
So you probably by now have an idea how much is needed.

Best of Luck.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
As till now, students have been selected and qualified only if they clear the individual cutoff for each subject. I don't think you can clear Mathematics with only 2 marks. You have to score more than the individual cutoff in Mathematics. Also without clearing the same won't allow you to take admission in IITs.

Hi ! You should expect a high rank to get an admission in either IIST or at IISC. To get IISC you must have a rank within 500 in JEE advance (although they prefer JEE main students with rank between 1-250 ) and to get IIST you must have a rank between 3000-5000. Hope you understand and best of luck to you.
Hi Mukesh,
In the previous years the closing rank for IIST ECE specialization in Avionics, is around 470 - 500 in OBC category. To get this rank you need a score close to 230. So you may not get the course with your course. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!
Hey! 72 marks in jee advanced are somewhat less and getting into iist is a bit difficult. With 72 marks I don't think you will be able to get into iist since there are only very limited number of seats and given that it's one of the best space institutes in india. Hence getting there would be somewhat difficult. Work hard for this seat. Hope this answer helps.
Hey there
Your rank as per your marks and previous year cutoff analysis will be between 20000- 22000 so with this rank you will not get iist as cutoffs are higher for iist.

Good luck
Hi Karan ! IIEST as well as IIST both are one of the best government colleges in India. IIST focuses on b.tech on space technology and space related technologies and it is Thiruvananthapuram Kerala. In the mean time IIEST is in west Bengal and it ranks 23rd in nirf ranking whereas the former rank within 30-36. One can get quality education and placement from these colleges. But IIST admit students through JEE advance but IIEST admit students through JEE main. But yes not every stream is good in IIEST, that is CSE,ECE, electrical, aeronautical are good here. So best of luck to you.
