No,the sudent who is failed in any of the subject he is not elgible and first of all you are not allowed /elgible/appear to write IIT-JEE examination.

Students need to be qualified in their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

Dear Dhruv,

In order to eligible for IITs you should have 75% marks in your boards exam or you should be in top 20 percentile in general category. For SC/ST you should have 65% marks.

Hello Gudipati..

The previous year GATE cut off-qualifying marks for electrical engineering is 25.20(general category).

And your expected GATE score will be around 500-600(out of 1000),and the previous year cut off for IIT Bombay is 510,for IIT Delhi-780,IIT BHU-647 etc...you can also check the previous year cutoff for different IITs
