how many percentile for of category oc to join in iit or nit

Hi there,

For open category which is the general category your percentile score must be more than 96.5 in order to get a good branch at a good nit, for securing such score your marks should be around 250.

For the IITs you have to come under 4500 rank in the jee advance exam so that you get a good branch at the top nits.

We all know that college is compared on the basis of many aspect and after considering it NIRF ranked out college on every aspect that make college better.And according to NIRF ranking NIT Trichy ranks 9 in INDIA while IIT Jodhpur ranks 54 after observing this you can see the massive difference.Hence NIT CSE will be better option for you in my opinion but at last the choice is yours.

Hope you are doing well. As per your query IIT Jodhpur ranked 53rd and IIT Bhubaneswar ranked 56th in All India. Both the colleges are very renowned and good colleges amongst IIT. CSE branch in both the colleges are very good but it is better in IIT Jodhpur. Almost 80% students got placed from CSE branch. The average salary package was 15 LPA. Electrical Engineering is one of the core branches and there are plenty of career opportunities for an electrical engineer.

  1. Mostly you will get placed in one of the companies during campus placements. You can either choose to work for a company based on electricals and hardware, or you can choose IT or other non electrical based sector also. If you are preferring latter, you must also prepare according.
  2. You can apply for electrical engineer posts in Indian Navy or Indian Army. its one of the best choices and you will have an amazing job profile.
  3. If you are interested in teaching, it is a great option too. A lecturer graduated from IIT is always welcome everywhere. Since you are doing dual course, you have Masters degree too.
  4. Other options like bank exams, UPSE exams, ISE exam or other government exmas.
  5. You can do research in electronics and its applied fields. You can give entrance exams for research based institutions(either in India or abroad).
