I believe you are talking about Indian School of Mining (ISM), Dhanbad, here. The CAT cutoff for the institute is usually high ranging between 80-85 percentile. The cutoff keeps changing every year. So, it may go up or down depending on the difficulty level of the CAT 2018

though its possible to change your diploma field but its quite difficult to get admission in the institute after doing so as it lowers your status and specially the central govt institutes like IITs and ISMs have no way to enroll diploma candidates
