    If you are taking admission in nit now and if you want to take admission in iits,
    No need to worry if you are ready to do hard work.
    But there is only one option for you,
    You will have to appear for jee advanced again in next year and if you get a good rank, then it's good.
    You can get iit.
    So,
    Go for it.

    Well certainly one might think that IIT Indore is a new institute as compared to NIT Surathkal which has proved decades of excellence. But the thing is IIT Indore is one of the fastest growing institutes in the country and the best new IIT among all others. So i guess IIT Indore can be preferred over NIT Surathkal.

    Hello Lokendra ,
    I will strongly recommend you not to opt EE at IIT dhanbad, since the faculty there is very bad and you have to depend on GATE or other exams for a better job.
    There is only 2 to 3 faculty for this branch here.
    You should choose electronics at IIT bhubhneshwar since it is one of the old iit and your mentioned branch is also very good.

    Hello there,

    The Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS), formerly Govindram Seksaria Technological Institute(GSTI) is a public engineering institution located in Indore.

    Last year the closing rank for Computer Science in SGSITS was around 20k. Sorry with 120000 rank you can't get admission in GSITS or any government college so you should go for private colleges.

    IIT indore is  a better option as compared to IIT Dhanbad,  IIT indore has a better placement than IIT Dhanbad. Also indore is a nice city as compared to Dhanbad and you have to keep all these factors in mind while opting for a college. So I will suggest you to opt for IIT indore.

    Hello...

    It's depend on totally your choice. If you are interested in electrical then go with ISM Dhanbad or if you are interested in mechanical then choose IIT Bhu.

    ISM dhanbad will be best choice in terms of academics and placement. It is one of the top ten engineering college.

    Even placement scenario for ISM Dhanbad is too good so you can trust this college for your further study.

    Hi Aspirant

    A lot of students face this kind of dilemma during JOSAA counseling.

    The most important point that must be kept in mind is going for a branch that interests you more. Try to gather as much information as you can about these branches from the internet and the people in these fields.

    The choice between an old IIT and a new one is a difficult one to make. You must weigh the pros and cons.

    Indore being almost in the centre in the nation and a better city than Roorkee in terms of opportunities for coaching for higher studies will be the better option if you want to pursue higher studies.

    As far as rankings from various organisations go IIT Roorkee would be the better option. But IIT Indore is also growing at an amazing pace.

    As far as Branch Change is considered , it is relatively easier in the new IITs than the old ones due to the number of students.

    But in some IITs like IIT Hyderabad, branch change also depends on the branch you have taken and is much easier in branches like chemical engineering and civil engineer.

    IIT GUWAHATIIIT ROORKEE/IIT MANDIIIT MADRAS/IIT KGP

    In terms of Academics :

    IIT KANPUR/ IIT MADRAS /IIT DELHI

    In terms of placements :

    IIT BHU/ROORKEE/IIT KANPUR/DELHI/IIT B

    In terms of exposure you get :

    IIT BOMBAY/IIT DELHI/IIT ROORKEE

    In terms of sports facilities :

    IIT KANPUR/IIT BHUALL

    In terms of reputation:

    IIT BOMBAY/IIT DELHI/IIT ROORKEE/IIT KANPUR/IIT MADRAS/IIT KGP

    These are my views.

    Overall nearly all IITs are good. IIT HYDERABAD and IIT INDORE are doing great. In near future they would definitely make it to the top of the list .

    Hello...

    ISM Dhanbad will be best option for you . Because academics and placement statistics is much better than other college mentioned here.

    Most of the core companies of mechanical recruit students from here with average package of 10-12lpa . Even infrastructure of college is well developed. Even locality of ISM Dhanbad is too good to spend your next four years.

    Many techfest are organised here which will help you to enrich your skills.
