HI PARAG,
You will surely get some or the other lower notched IIT with not so good branch with 158 score in general category rank. Just wait for the josaa counselling to begin.
HOPe this helps you.
Best of luck.
The cut off varies branch, quota and category wise as you have not specified the complete details so you are advised to go through the below link to know the previous year cut off trend -

Good Luck!!!
Hello, Anyaan
Look JEE mains and advance is conducted every year and each of them has separate reservation and cut-off for different categories.. However, you can check the cut-off based on your category. If you consider the year 2016. For computer science and engineering, the following was the opening and closing rank based on different categories.
Gen- [24 (opening rank), 186( closing rank)], OBC- [ 33(opening rank), 140( closing rank)], SC-[23(opening rank), 47( closing rank)], ST-[12(opening rank), 46(( closing rank)]
Now if you consider the year 2017, Following was the opening and closing rank of different categories for computer science.
Gen- [3 (opening rank), 104( closing rank)], OBC- [21(opening rank), 67( closing rank)], SC-[17(opening rank),35( closing rank)], ST-[5(opening rank), 25( closing rank)]
Now Based this you can get an idea how the seats are going to be filled this year. I hope you find this information useful. Have a great future ahead.
Mohit Jain, I am sorry to say with 120 marks in the general category there is no chance for you to get admission in any IIT so forget about getting admission in IIT Indore. Even most probably you won't be able to clear the cut-off of general category. But if you are in SC/St category then you might have a chance to get admission in IIT Indore. If you are a general category student so I will advise you to start looking for some good institutes through JEE Mains marks.
Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!
Dear lekhika suryawanshi
as you want to join btech in any college you need to score good marks in any competitive exams or either go under management quota of your interested college thank you
Ayush considering you a general category student with your 85 marks in JEE Mains exam your AIR must be around 90,000 - 1,00,000. I am very sorry to say Ayush but with this rank, it will be very difficult for you to get admission in any of the NITs even with the state quota in your Home NIT you will not be able to get a seat in NITs. For further detail, you can check the last 2-years cut-off of all the NITs with the link given below:
But still, you have a moderate chance to get into some of the government engineering colleges running in each state by the state government and accepts JEE Mains marks for admission. You will need to look out for those colleges or if you can tell me your home state then I will help you in finding it and looking your chances of admission.
Also, with 85 marks you are eligible for JEE Advanced examination so you still have 1 more day to register yourself for the exam which is going to be held on 20th May. Do it quickly if you wish to do well in JEE Advanced examination and get admission in one of the IITs.
