What i should chose Frome iitB civil or Even in iit roorkee?

Ankur Dubey Student Expert 22nd Jun, 2019

Hello

Of course IIT-Roorkee…..

These are some points on why you choose IIT roorkee.

  • The Civil Department is very strong in Roorkee. It is one of best among the core departments present in IIT-Roorkee.
  • Moreover placements are very good in Civil Engg at IIT-Roorkee. The Labs are huge and spacious and multi-facilitated. Many sub-branches and courses of Civil Engineering are there including the only Earthquake Engineering Department in India.
  • The Foreign and International Collaborations are very high. High-profile people and organizations visit the place frequently. Student Exchange Programs form foreign universities take place without any difficulty. Besides, CSIR-CBRI is present inside the campus to co-ordinate with the Civil department to produce the best research environment for Civil Engg.
  • And the Alumni is very strong for the Civil Department. Starting from the legendaries- Sir James Thomason( constructor of Ganga Canal ), Sir Ganga Ram, Lawrence William Durell (constructor of Darjeeling Mountain railway) , Ajudhia Nath Khosla ( builder of Bhakra-Nangal Dam and Hirakud Dam), Jai Krishna( eminent Earthquake Engineer), to the present Prashant Rao and Mangu Singh ( Director & MD of Delhi Metro Railway Corporation ), Kanwar Sen ( builder of Indira Gandhi Canal ), Jayprakash Gaur ( founder of Jaypee Group ), Shubham Agrawal ( Railway Secretary ), Ghananand Pande ( Former Chairman of Indian Railways ), Ganga Ram Agrawal ( current railway board secretary )SK Gupta ( Director of Mumbai Metro Railway Corporation )

I m quite sure that you are convinced that the Civil Engineering department is one of the most Performing Departments in Asia. So, if you really want to pursue Civil Engineering in future, you can surely join IIT-Roorkee without any hesitation.

I hope it will help you

Good luck....

Give me priority order for IIT bombay civil;IIT delhi production;IIT Madras chemical;IIT roorkee mechanical. If I have no branch preference?

zeeshannafees 21st Jun, 2019
Firstly,I want to say that choose as per your interest do  not take admission on the basis of that which is better or not.If you are interested in any branch then that will be definitely best suited for you.According to your question the most preferable order in increasing order is - IIT madras(chemical)>IIT Roorkee(mechanical)>IIT Bombay (civil)>IIT Delhi(production).

I am getting engineering physics in iit roorkee. What do we have to study in Engineering physics? And what can we do after graduation?

Satyam Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

If you are really interested in Engineering Physics or doing research in that field then it is very good option. In Engineering Physics you basically have to study the topics which you study in general physics like quantum is the most important of all and like that only ther topics are also there.

See placements are also good in this course , but mostly people go for phd and research programs in US or Germany etc.

So you have both options.

Thank you.

Min marks and rough figure of marks to get IIT roorkee in ST category?(JEE adv)

Satyam Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

You have asked for a good college IITR. As you are from ST category so you will get edge over other candidates if you have a good score.

Previous year IITR closing rank in round 6 was around 300 for electrical, electronics, mechanical and around 90 for cse. So you better have rank under 350-400 to get admission in IITR.

Thank you.

Can I get integrated msc in physics in iit roorkee with obc rank 5200?

Satyam Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

I see that you have got 5200 rank in obc category and you want to persue Msc in Physics from IIT Roorkee. But it is too much to get admission in IITR.

If I consider previous year closing rank then i found out that closing rank iin round 7 was around 4000. So it would be quite tough for you to get into IITR.You may try other colleges.

Thank You.

IIT BHU Elcetronics vs IIT Guwahati Electronics vs IIT Roorkee Mechanical pls tell how priority should I fill in choice filling?

Satyam Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

See as the choices you have given , it's like chosing between Bugatti, Bentley, BBT. All three are great.

It's you who have to decide which branch is best for you.  In between IIT Guwahati and IIT BHU ,i would prefer IIT Guwahati electronics as IIT Guwahati is among the old IIT's , so neglecting the infrastructure, what i see is that the placements and other factors are better than that of IIT BHU.

Now Between IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee , IIT Roorkee has a slightly upper hand But it is almost same. So you have to decide . If you prefer Mechanical then IITR Mech.>IITG Electronics>IIT BHU Electronics. Else just reverse the first two. This is what i think.

TThank you.

Pls tell which is best IIT BHU Electronics or IIT Roorkee Mechanical in terms of placement if I have no interest in branches

eeshaakula_9673611 Student Expert 21st Jun, 2019

Hi Ankit!

Without, interest if you are looking to pick a course by only looking at the placements.

Then,i suggest you pick IIT BHU electronics cause even though it is a hard course, the demand for Electronics engineers are on the rise and will ofter you a fatter salary.

Wheras, Mechanical engineers often look to pursue a higher degree after UG to secure a job with high pay.

Which is better- IIT Kharagpur(Industrial) or IIT Roorkee (Civil) and why?

Himanshu Vashith 21st Jun, 2019

Hello there. Well firstly every branch have it's own importance and better in on way or other. Firstly talking out the branches, you are the one who have to decide which you want to choose. Coming up with IIR Roorkee, they are considered to be best in Civil branch. That's because they have done various research that have helped the local area in growth. And coming up on IIT Khadakpur, they are considered among the best IIT so the course available are also the best.

So in the end it's willingness and passion toward any branch that makes one better than other.
