hello Sukrit,
According to me, every branch is unique in itself if you are interested in extracting, refining or recycling metals then you should go for metallurgy or if you are interested in the software world, coding then you should go for computer science or if working with engine or modelling is your passion then go for mechanical engineering.
You have to decide what is your interest and what thing you can do perfectly. This decision is very important in your life and you need to take it wisely don't run behind the placement just do what you like. One of my senior in my college left Computer Science in the second year and took mechatronics and started his studies all over again because he realized it afterward that he has more interest in robotics and machine learning so I just advise you to find your interest and then take your decision if you perform well in any field you will get placement so be confident with your decision
All the best
dear student
Mechanical Engineering at IIT Roorkee is a better option. It is the oldest Engineering college in India and Mechanical is a fairly vast field, often called the Evergreen branch of Engineering.
It's good enough, faculties are fine, labs do have equipments, infrastructure is ok.
Workshops & courses are conducted at times.
Placements are well too.
IITR was at AIR 6 in MHRD ranking of engineering institutions in India last year
hope this helps
All the best!!!
Hi Anmol! For your information, IIT Roorkee does not accept MAT scores for its MBA admission. It accepts only CAT scores. Hence, if you want to take admission in IIT Roorkee, it would not be possible through MAT scores. For other B-school admission chances, use the MAT Pathfinder tool as shared in the previous answer.
In IIT roorkee there is no interview, admission in M.Tech Earthquake Engg on the basis of GATE score. There are three streams in earthquake engineering Structure Dynamics, Soil dynamics and SVRA. Most of the students are not aware about this department. Structure dyn is more demanding then soil and SVRA is last.
Now come on the your answer for Structure dyn the last gate rank near by AIR 1000 for gen category , OBC 3000, SC & ST near 5000. For soil dynamics more higher like 1400 for general category. SVRA is the hope of last gate ranker and it goes AIR 1800 for general category. These all ranking are based on Spot round at IIT Roorkee.
Best of Luck !!
Hello dear,
if you are going for IIT roorkee then all the branches are best so just go for whatever branch you like and if you are asking for Alternate hydro energy at IIT roorkee then from my point of view it is best because in this field you will get many chances for research.if you are thinking about placement then placement is also good in it.so, you have to go for it.
All The Best.
dear monika mehta
all the IITs take admission in B.arch course on the basis of jee main ranks,NATA score is not acceptable in IITs.
Only students who have qualified the JEE Mains are allowed to sit for JEE Advanced. If a student wants to join B.Arch in IIT Kahargpur and IIT Roorkee , he/she has to first clear JEE Mains Parer 1 (not Paper 2 ; Paper 2 is only for admission to B.Arch in NITs and SPAs). Also, Only those candidates who would have given B. Arch program (available at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee) as one of their choices while filling their choices will be eligible to take the Architecture Aptitude Test.
JEE Advanced Qualified Students who are aspiring for Admission to Architecture Programs in IITs are hereby informed that Candidates desirous of joining the B. Arch. (Architecture) courses has to pass in an Aptitude Test to be conducted only at the 7 zonal IITs .
However the seat allotment will be done based on the category wise All India Rank in the JEE Advanced .The test will consist of one paper of three hours duration .
I HOPE THIS WAS USEFUL.
GOOD LUCK
