Should I go with mechanical or electrical in IIT Mandi/Ropar/Dhanbad or metallurgy in IIT Roorkee?

Hi Sukrit. May be my opinion will sound different to you, but to be completely honest with you, you should choose IIT Roorkee Metallurgy as Electrical or Mechanical are very common branches now a days with high competition, whereas metallurgy is less popular and you can easily get a job.

Hi Piyush, both are good. If your interest in in computer science then you should pursue CSE in DTU and if you are interested in chemistry then Chemical Engineering from IIT-R sounds more promising. 

IIT has its own charm and reputation, but DTU is equally good as CSE is one

Comparing rank wise College then I would suggest iit bombay stands first rather than roorkee ,but as a field of engineering I would suggest it be totally your choice.Thank you.

All r top IIT,  it depends on which Entrance Exam along with region or score u earned to get admission in IIT Bombay for Electrical +Mtech Microelectrical admission.

Mechanical Engineering at IIT Roorkee is a better option. It is the oldest Engineering college in India and Mechanical is a fairly vast field, often called the Evergreen branch of Engineering.

It's good enough, faculties are fine, labs do have equipments, infrastructure is ok.

Hi Anmol! For your information, IIT Roorkee does not accept MAT scores for its MBA admission. It accepts only CAT scores. Hence, if you want to take admission in IIT Roorkee, it would not be possible through MAT scores. For other B-school admission chances, use the MAT Pathfinder tool as

IIT Roorkee and Hyderabad are best colleges for Mechanical engineering alongside Kharagpur campus.

Incomparison,
Roorkee Campus offers 8.9lac as median package for Mechanical engineering and is ranked 7 in India.


Hyderabad campus offers average package of 7LPA and is rnaked 22 in Jndia.


Overall both have good facilities and faculty

In IIT roorkee there is no interview, admission in M.Tech Earthquake Engg on the basis of GATE score. There are three streams in earthquake engineering Structure Dynamics, Soil dynamics and SVRA. Most of the students are not aware about this department. Structure dyn is more demanding then soil and SVRA
