4 years mathematics and computing at IIT Ropar is better because I would suggest you to always opt for four years course rather than 5 Year course until you are hundred percent sure that you are interested in that subject and you want to make future in that subject is specifically if you choose applied mathematics then it is much related to research and science purpose and not job oriented so if you are targeting for getting a placement and then you should go for mathematics and computing at IIT Ropar apart from that if you are getting some good 4 year course at IIT Roorkee then you can choose that because IIT Roorkee is much better compared to IIT Ropar

The cutoff rank for the IIT ropar is

1. For computer science it's 709 - 969.
2. For mechanical engineering it's 1977.
3. For electrical engineering it's 1200-2347.
4. For civil engineering it's 1129 to 1529.

If you want to join colleges out of them I'll suggest iit dhanbaad out of them for cse. It has got a well structured atmosphere for cse. You will find advanced coder both in professors and in students. But other iits mentioned is also good it's your choice what to choose.

According to me between these 3 institutes, i can rate them as :

1. IIT Indore

2. IIT Mandi

3. IIT ropar

Because, IIT Indore has the lowest fees among these and has the lowest cut off as well.

Indore has the highest package record among these three till now which is 28 lakhs.

the teaching can differ according to the courses you choose.

This is quite a complex situation of choosing a college.

Doing MTech in Sensors and Iot will be much better than doing power engineering.

But Iit Ropar has better placements than Iit Jodhpur.

But if you compare in detail doing mtech in sensors and Iot will be better choice as this is in trend .

The placements will be fine in the near future for Iit Jodhpur.
