I have a valid KVPY fellowship of SA-E (rank-95)which commences this year but I got 78.2% in cbse board (SC category) Can I get IISER.

Sudeshna Dutta 2nd Oct, 2021

Hello there aspirant.

I hope everything is going well for you.

So, if you've qualified for KVPY, whether you're in SX, SA, or SB, you're in luck. When it comes to your undergraduate and graduate education, you will be eligible for scholarships if you majored in pure science in both your undergraduate and graduate studies. Your percentage should be greater than 75% and you have it so no worries. If you are selected for the kvpy fellowship, you will almost likely be awarded one as well. The KVPY Fellowship is designed for students who are enrolled in a research-oriented programme at a university or college level in Korea. The IISER and IISc are mainly designed for students who want to pursue a career in the scientific or technological field.

I hope you were able to find the solution to your query. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask them. Have a wonderful day!

I didnt study biology in plus two. Then can I got better score in iiser aptitude test?

ankitshrajki97 Student Expert 22nd May, 2019

Hello!

There is no sectional cutoff in IAT test but biology question parts also add to the total marks. So if you skip biology part then you have to do well in PCM part .You can also try reading NCERT  biology books of 11 and 12  so that you can answer some basic questions which will add your extra marks as the biology part is not that hard.

Hope it answer your concerns!

I didnt have maths in class 12 but the IISER test has maths in it.Will I be able to clear it?I scored 97.4% (PCB) in 12th CBSE 2019

Pallavi 22nd May, 2019

Hello kiranveer!!!

Your percentage of PCB class 12 is very good. This shows that you are a hard working student and you have a good command on PCB.

Talking about IISER, a student must be excellent at mathematics to clear this exam. There is a vast syllabus of mathematics after class 10th. So, you have skipped a major part which will prove to be a difficult task to cover up.

Hence, it is quite not possible to clear it without maths.

Your maths should be strong enough to clear this level of exam.

If you really wish to crack this exam, then start learning the formulas from NCERT. Atleast, you will be able to solve formula based questions. Try to score maximum possible score in maths.

Give more time on solving chem, physics and bio. You should be more inclined towards these subjects.

Get a decent overall score.

All the best!!!
