Since you are doing Engineering, you will be eligible for applying to Armed forces from 4th year onwards. This is because , the Armed force will need your original passing certificate at the time of joining. So if you applying at Armed Force in 3rd year, then you won't be able to get you graduate certificate in time.
You can apply for the following exams to get into Armed Forces:
1. Combined Defence Services - CDS
2. Technical Graduate Scheme - TGC - Indian Army
3. AFCAT - Airforce
4. UES - Indian Navy
5. NCC Cadet Entry Scheme : Only if you have NCC Certificate.
I hope this help with your queries.
