How to prepare for IIIT Hyderabad lateral entry exam for dual degree CSD within 6 months?

Tamajit Biswas Student Expert 4th Oct, 2019

Hi Sai,

The entrance exam is computer based and has multiple choice type of questions. The syllabus for the same is given below:

  • General Aptitude.
  • Discrete Mathematics.
  • Digital Logic.
  • Computer Organization.
  • Data Structures.
  • C-Programming.

There is no hard and fast way to complete the preparation for this particular entrance exam within a stipulated period of time but then it's entirely possible to complete your preparation in 6 months given the fact that you devote your entire concentration for the preparation process and also you need to brush up and develop a crystal clear concept of the topics involved in the exam. You also need to practice previous year questions extensively to enhance your preparation methodology.

BEST WISHES!

How to prepare for Lateral entry exam while studying B.Tech 2nd year at private engineering college, to get IIIT Hyderabad CSD?

Sunanda Dhar Student Expert 13th Sep, 2019

First of all it is 2nd year lateral entry program. But for applying into it you must have completed 2 year B.Tech program, i.e. one year back.

It is conducted in 2 stages :

1. Written Examination

2. Interview

For written examination, I would personally suggest you to study all topics of your all 4 semesters properly and give extra attention to those courses when they might be covered in your college. (or if you study separately) :

You can expect question paper to be completely logical without any derivation etc etc. The main motive of the written examination is to check understanding of your concepts at the first place.

Bonus: In subjective question you can expect questions as

Algorithms - 2

Mathematics - 1

Operating System - 1

Rest others…

The question paper pattern has been modified. The 2017 exam only had MCQs. There were 60 questions to be solved in 180 minutes.

If you did the written properly it would be followed by a INTERVIEW.

Feel free to ask me in the comment box if you are having any further doubts

hope you find it helpful

Good Luck!
