Hello aspirant,
The minimum marks required to get into Thapar University in is to have 20% marks in JEE Mains that is scoring minimum of 72 marks will make you eligible for admission.
Also if your marks are around 90 don't expect seat from direct counselling. You will get seat during Final In-Person On the Spot Counseling.
So, to be at a safer position of getting admission, I would prefer you to score anything above 75 Percentile, if you are not from Punjab. Now if you are from punjab, score anything about 70 percentile would work .
Hope this helps you
Feel free to ask any questions
All the best for your future

Hi mukherjee...
You have got preety good rank in jee main you can get very good nits few are like :
1.NIT delhi
2.NIT kurushetra
3.NIT Raipur
and you can know the cutoff of many nice NITs from this article
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches
and for predicting NITs here is predictor tool

so general essentially is the rank you have obtained among all the candidates who have appeared for the exam whereas community rank is the rank you have obtained among all the candidates who have appeared for the exam among your community.
When it comes to the usage of these ranks , the usage of community rank is that it decreases your general rank by a certain range so that you are able to get a good college rather than a low rated college with your general rank. Community rank is similar to a reservation. Such reservations are present in all colleges. This what sometimes makes it difficult for general rank students to get good colleges.
Dear Aspirant,
Yes you have a decent chance at some NIT, NITs except for the top 5-10 NITs. For example NIT Uttarakhand, etc. You also have a good chance at your home state NIT. Moreover, you can also get some GFTIs and state government colleges like in :-
UTU, Pantnagar University, etc in Uttarakhand.
For a complete list of the colleges you can get with your rank, use our college predictor tool:-
