what score is needed for Thapar institute of technology in Jee?

Aadarsh Gupta 8th Apr, 2021

Hello aspirant,

The minimum  marks required  to get into  Thapar University  in is to have 20%  marks  in  JEE  Mains that is  scoring  minimum of 72  marks  will make you eligible for admission.

Also if your marks are around 90 don't expect seat from direct counselling.
You will get seat during Final In-Person On the Spot Counseling.

So, to be at a safer position of getting admission, I would prefer you to score anything above  75 Percentile, if you are not from Punjab.  Now if you are from punjab, score anything about 70 percentile would work .

Hope this helps you

Feel free to ask any questions

All the best for your future

I got 73 percentile in jee main paper 1 have I qualified the exam? my category is general.

S. Saha Student Expert 25th Nov, 2020
Jee main 2020 result is out and the qualifying cutoffs (NTA Score) of this year are as follow-

Common Rank List : 90.3765335
Gen - EWS : 70.2435518
OBC: 72.8887969
SC: 50.1760245
ST: 39.0696101
PWD: 0.0618524

And 73 percentile in Jee Main paper 1 means your score will less than the cutoff score mentioned above. That means you haven't qualified Jee Main 2020. So you are not eligible to apply for NITs or IIITs or CFTIs and also for Jee Advanced. But you can apply for other Engineering colleges of India which are accepting Jee Main score.

what is the use of general rank and community rank?

chandni deb 4th Oct, 2020

Dear Student,

so general essentially is the rank you have obtained among all the candidates who have appeared for the exam whereas community rank is the rank you have obtained among all the candidates who have appeared for the exam among your community.

When it comes to the usage of these ranks , the usage of community rank is that it decreases your general rank by a certain range so that you are able to get a good college rather than a low rated college with your general rank. Community rank is similar to a reservation. Such reservations are present in all colleges. This what sometimes makes it difficult for general rank students to get good colleges.
