JEE Main Paper 1
Rakesh, your rank would be approximately 7212 going by the formula 100-99.17*869010/100 where in 99.17 is your percentile and 869010 is the no.of Candidates who appeared for JEE Mains for January session. For example, if the Candidates appearing for July session go upto 12.00.000 then we use 1200000 instead of 869010. Now this is your All India Rank and we are yet to know the no.of Candidates qualified in EWS Category. But on a general note, your EWS Rank might be less than 1500-2000. We can calculate your rank with the help of your percentile by using the formula: (100-your total percentile)*869010/100.
Going by this formula, your rank will be 193876. Now, this is for the January session and if the no. of Candidates appearing for JEE Mains April session is increased to 12,00,000 then your final rank is calculated using the formula:(100 - your total score) X 12,00,000/100.
With a rank of 193876, it is tad difficult for a seat in NIT even with SC reservation even in your Home State. You might have to appear for April session as well. Please visit our page for previous years cut offs for various NITs in various streams.

Rank = ( No. of students)(100-87.24)/(100)
approximately = 1,15,000
Hello,
Both category rank and CRL ranks are considered.A merit list is prepared of those candidates who applied for JAC counselling based on the scores in JEE main paper 1 for admission in B.tech and JEE main paper 2for admission in B.arch.Now the seat will be alloted based on the vacancies available, your merit and the preferences you have given.Certain percentage seats are reserved for reserved candidates and these seats are filled based on category merit.If there are seats available under general category and if your rank is above the cut off rank for general category then your CRL will be considered and allot you a seat.
