It is better to choose NIT . You can try for IIT .

But it would be difficult to get top core branches in top IIT

my sc prep rank is 895 what does that mean and so can i apply in any iit, i have qualified jee advance but my cutoff was not cleared???

Hey bro you are talking about prepration rank in IIT it means that if you got selected for IIT then they will teach you and prepare you for the IIT for the next year for that you will not have to pay any fees and also the test that they

In extended jee advance 2018 will the older ranks change or not

Older ranks would not be changed, only new ranks be added on top for all extra students who have qualified. 


Around 800 supernumerary seats created and total 11500 approximately seTs reserved for admission into IITs  


This year as per extended list 31000 students have qualified and for general category cutoff

Write a mail to CBSE. If possible reach their office and tell them about your issue. As CBSE conducts the JEE they will probably sort your problem
