Both are not much differen,I mean biotechnology and biomedical engineering are not entirely different.So, Biotechnology covers a broader scope in natural sciences, while the principles of biomedical engineering mainly on medicine and engineering principles. ... Both biotechnology as well as biomedical engineering overlap to some extent, but are different. Both are upcoming, sunrise fields that have bright career future.

Biomedical engineering is a field that incorporated the basics of engineering into the field of medical career. This is an inter-disciplinary science just like biotechnology. The prospects include designing artificial organs, tissue/organ engineering, research on working principles of our body, prosthetic devices and implantation. new drug release method etc.
You can work as biomedical engineer in clinical, research and pharmaceutical laboratories, as technicians, instrument designers. The salary ranges from Rs. 25,000 to 55,000 per month or even more. If you have more experience and more skill you are paid more.
You can also join this field if you have needed skills on electronics/physics/genetics/instrumentation.

The candidate should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in graduation. PUCET 2019 Counselling will be conducted as per the PUCET Merit List. The Provisional PUCET Merit List and commencement of ist round of PUCET counselling are expected to start on 5th July 2019.
Admission is based on the marks obtained in Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PUCET). Since you have got 110 rank and you want to be one of the few people to get those 22 seats it is not really easy but yes you do have chances of getting admission if the ones ahead of you choose any other stream/ college which is a possibiity.
