According to previous year's cutoffs for Industrial Biotech which was 1715(closing rank in OC category), you have less chances of getting a seat for the same in Anna University. However, it dependes on whoc community you belong to.

The Biomedical Engineering course includes the study of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Life Science, Biotech, Calculus, Materials Science, Principles of Design and Biomechanics.
Employment of biomedical engineers is projected to grow 7 percent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations.
B.E Biomedical Engineering: Eligibility: Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized state or central board with at least 50% of the marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as the major subjects of study.
