kalinga institute is a really prestigious institute in bhubaneswar to study btech. it has also good placement record. most of the students got placed on campus placement , and some of the students goes for further study.

as per profile, recruitment  companies dont look into college profile. they mostly check students qualification, body language and communication skill. so while studing b.tech make your self capable of it unless inspite of reading  a good college, you may remain jobless.

When it comes to offers,IT students get equal opportunity.Most of the companies give equal opportunities to CSE and IT students. You can easily get good offers if you are a decent student. But the reality is that in general a CSE student is considered more intelligent than a IT guy. This is a general notion. This is proved by the fact that the number of unplaced students in IT will be more than the ones from CSE.

Anyways, do not worry about placements and just try to focus on academics. Even the syllabus is also same for the two branches. You have much better chances of getting a good job than the core people.

The safe rank for the main campus would have been below 5000 but nevertheless i have seen cases with 10,000 rank scorers getting CSE or IT(but this was 2 years back). I would suggest you to wait until all seats are filled up because good students will go for other colleges and you may end up getting a seat. I would also suggest you to have an open mind for CSE and IT both.

As per as the previous 2 year statistics the closing rank for computer science to get an admission into KIIT is at least a rank of 3000.Hence with a rank of 4226 you won't get an admission into CSE.But with the same rank you might have got a computer science Btech admission before 4 years.

as per the previous year trends cse closes at around 5000 rank so you have less chances for cse but you can predict the other branches you can get using the previous year data at https://university.careers360.com/articles/kiitee-cutoff.

See since it's a private institution u can take admission in any of the branch until the seats get full. U can also apply through the management quota for the desired seat in the desired branch. U will be easily getting seat there.

You should go for CSE at KIIT over IT at manipal university Jaipur. The CSE branch at KIIT will provide you a better exposure for getting a right amount of knowledge and will provide you a better options of job opportunities. I think you have got the point.

It totally depends on your choice and interest to which branch you want to opt. Go by your will and you can excel in every field also, the aerospace branch has good scope in the coming years. You can easily get aerospace branch in kiit as the cutoff closing  for the branch is more than what you have got. Your rank is good even for computer science all the best!
