Sir I m resident of Maharashtra but i want to take admission in deemed university or private medical college of Karnataka m i eligible for it? My category - OBC & also what would be cutoff - 1)for top pvt med clg of Karnataka 2)for clg which has less fee Suggest both type of college KMC, JMC Banglor

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 12th Jun, 2020

Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. Karnataka is an Open State and so you can participate in its State Counselling because Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone.  All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC, AIIMS and JIPMER are filled by DGHS. So if you want to secure a seat in KMC, you need to appear for State Counselling only because KMC is still a Deemed to be University and not a Deemed University yet. So you have to attend its State Counselling. And with OBC reservation, you should score nothing less than 500 for a seat in a Private Medical College. what is the fees for govt seat under neet

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 27th May, 2020
Harshath, the fee structure for every Medical College is fixed by the State Government of that particular State. It can be as less as Rs. 7,000 per annum as in the case of Calcutta Medical College to Rs.50,000 per annum. It depends again on the State that you are enquiring about. But there is a fee difference between fee in the GMCs filled through State Counselling and All India Counselling. You can read the complete information at our page: https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/mbbs-fees/amp. As you have tagged Kasturba Medical College, it os Rs. 90,000 per annum excluding miscellaneous charges making the total fee structure as 4.5 lakhs.

what was neet cut off of Kasturba Medical college Manipal in 2019 for MBBS for unreserved quota candidate

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 10th May, 2020
Saurabh, KMC Manipal is a Private Medical College. Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. But Karnataka is an Open State. And there are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. Here you need atleast 550. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through State Counselling and here you will need atleast 500 and the remaining seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly. Here you will need atleast qualifying marks.  Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that.

I have a domicile certificate of Andhra Pradesh. I would like to do my MBBS in KMC, Manipal. What marks should I secure in NEET 2020 to be able to grt into this prestigious university. Also can you update me on the seat matrix, the fee structure and the categories of the university.

Apoorva Student Expert 3rd May, 2020

Hello dear student,

As you said you are the resident of Andhra Pradesh what you want to get admission in kasturba Medical College which is in Karnataka. I hope you are aware that this is a private medical college and have total 250 seats for MBBS. As it is a private medical college so it doesn't participate in the 15% all India quota seats . While you can apply from state quota seats . But now we know you don't have the domicile for this state . So what you can do it you can try for the management quota seat.

although it is mandatory for you to appear in NEET and get good marks only then you will be able to secure a seat in this Medical College. I hope this was helpful for you

Thank you

is kasturba medical college (manipal) have any separeate entrance exam for medical admissions

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 11th Apr, 2020
Hi

No, be it kasturba medical college (manipal) or any other medical college be it private or government, neet is the only entrance exam.

This is because, neet examination has been mandatory to be qualified if one wants to get into a medical college and from this year, and now it has become the only gateway to all the medical colleges after AIIMS and jipmer UG entrance examination got scrapped off this year

So , if you want to get into kasturba medical college prepare well for neet examination.

Thankyou

what is the closing rank for KMC Manipal under all India quota

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 9th Apr, 2020

Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. And for appearing for State Counselling you need to hold the domicile of that particular State. And like all Private Medical Colleges, KMC also has 3 types of seats. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and the last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that.  Karnataka being an Open State, you can participate in its State Counselling.  Now regarding the Closing rank, ranks like cut offs depend on various factors such as your NEET score, top NEET score, Category and tie breaking situations. Going with marks makes it for an easy understanding. Having said that even cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. If you belong to Genral Category for a seat in KMC, under Govt. Quota, you will need atleast 550. But if you belong to Reserved Categories, you will need atleast 500.
