Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Examination
Hi
First of all class 12th passed student are eligible for Stream SB of kvpy only and that too only when they are in the 1st year of undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics or Chemistry or Mathematics or Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S.
And to be eligible one must have at least 60% (50% for SC/ST or PWD) marks in the aggregate in MATHS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in class 12th Board Examination .
So, From above it is clear that what matters is your aggregate marks and not your individual marks so you are still eligible for KVPY examination with 61% in aggregate of PCM even if you have less than 60% in Maths .
Also, You must must secure at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in your 1st year final examination of B.Sc./B.S./B.Math./B.Stat./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. in order to take up the fellowship, if you are awarded.
You can check the same by visiting the official website of KVPY for which link is provided below :- http://kvpy.iisc.ernet.in/main/eligibility.htm

Biotechnology and Microbiology come under allied biology courses and do have great scope in teaching , research institutes and R&D department of many famous companies. It has scope in both India and abroad however abroad countries like USA, UK , Australia tend to have more scope comparitively as there is more research facility and infrastructure there. Biotechnology is expected to boom in the near future and has high demand.
You should definitely prepare for KVPY for admission into IISERs and IISC as these institutes are top notch and are very research centric giving huge opportunities to the students selected. Nevertheless , there are many other reputed institutes in India for biology like -
1. BHU , Varnasi 2. Delhi University ( Hindu College , Miranda House) 3.IITs ( For masters) 4. Stella Marie , Loyola College.
Hope this helps you! Good luck!

hi,
see there is no good coming thinking about the past. so if you are an engineering student, you would get opportunity to participate in many challenging programs which held by MNCS like accenture, infosys, IBM, microsoft etc. also IITs, nits has yearly tech fest organized where students have to give presentation for innovative projects . so there is lot of things to do and while going through many challenging competition , you have to decide in which way you want to make career, whether you want to do higher study or go for job. Another thing is there is GATE and IES exam which is who competitive exam where engineering students may apply. based on gate score you may get job in PSUS like Indian oil, power grid, ntpc etc , admission to m.tech program in iits, iiits , nits is based on g gate score. IES i.e Indian engineering services exam, based on ies score candidates are recruit as officers for the services to the technical functions/ engineering filed under the Government of India.
I think there will be a delay as the previous year examination was postponed due to the outbreak of deadly COVID-19.
Assuming youre a General Category Aspirant, you need a Minimum Rank of 250-300 Varying over Years in JEE Main/Advanced/NEET for securing a seat in IISc Bangalore for BS, which is somewhat too unpredictable and tough. However, you have another stream to a IISc Bangalore, which KVPY, though equally tough, but if prepared effectively and strategically in 2 Chances, KVPY SA/SX, there are chances you secure a seat.
However, if you belong to certain Category, you still have certain Relaxations in Cutoffs with the AIR Eligibility Cutoff of OBC at 5000-6000 in JEE Advanced/Main/NEET UG.
