However as you know unofficially you get immense opportunities to use mobile phones as well as laptops. Good to know you understood the problem yourself. Go to the nearest service centre if you are in hurry. It is better to opt for an authorized service centres of branded companies as they may take your laptop for 2-3 days which is safe in authorized centres.

Please mention which college you're referring to in order to get accurate answers. In general, it is really difficult to find such college (in graduation level) that do not allow laptops in the college hostel, i.e. almost every colleges allow laptops to be kept in the hostels.
