The jobs of M.Tech holders are given to B.Tech pass outs and the jobs of B.Tech holders are given to Diploma students! There are very few companies in the core mechanical/civil/electrical engineering, which will take only the toppers from each college/universities!
That was just our market overview. However, don't get disheartened hearing all these news. There are still some ways that can land you into a good job (if not a handsome paying one immediately).

You don't need to be concerned about discipline if you can't find a job that matches your bachelor's degree.
