Mechanical Engineering
Hi Sankalan!
Greetings!
Usually after spot round of counselling, the closing rank for mechanical engineering in JU lies around 700 to 800 every year. Now with the implementation of the domicile policy, there are high chances that you may get a seat in mechanical engineering in JU. But still I cannot confirmly say this because more and more no. of students from West Bengal will be turning up for the counselling just to take the advantage of this domicile policy and get a seat in JU.
Anyways, best of luck.

Hello,
If we talk about placements, future scope and current market situation NIT's mechanical engineering will be the first choice. As there are many government job opportunities in Mechanical Engineering as compared to aerospace engineering.
But since you have interest in aerospace, it is also a good feild but the current market situation and iiest shibpur placements record in not that good. As if you do not get placed in a core company you have no chance to work on your interest. If you want to M.Tech, MS & research in this feild then only it is recommended to get in this feild.
I would recommend you to go with Mechanical in NIT.
Hi there
JNTU College of Engineering,Kalikiri is not a good choice especially for mechanical engineering.
Number of students placed from JNTU is very low. On an average yearly 5% people are being placed in every branch. The highest salary offered in my batch was 2.25 lacs per annum that too from a CSE department. No MNC company visited the college. You can't hear the word internship when you entered in to JNTU. There is a placement cell which is not useful.
So, I would suggest to go for any other colleges for mechanical branch other than this.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
SRKR Engineering College, Andhra Pradesh is a better option for mechanical engineering.
The placements have increased this year compared to last year. Students are offered the highest packages. Our college stands in the list of top 100 colleges as per the survey conducted by NAAC (i.e., 85th position). Our college has tie-ups with international companies like Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys, and Mu Sigma.
This college offers the best mechanical engineering placements overall.
