Mechanical Engineering
Hey Nikita!
The cutoffs for UPSEE 2019 exam for first round of counselling are released. If you haven't checked them yet, you can check them from the following link :
https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/upsee-cutoff
And with this rank and as per the previous year cutoffs , you have low chances for top government colleges. But you can try for the top private colleges because you have good possibility there.
You can predict the college you can get on the basis of your rank by using UPSEE predictor tool:

Hope it helps!
Hi,
There would be many colleges which would have cutoffs in this range. So you need to decide which location, college and branch you are aiming for. So after picking some top colleges following this, you can go for cutoffs.
I would suggest you go through the last year cutoffs of the first round of CAP Process on the following link.
Https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/mht-cet-cutoff (For all rounds)
Make sure you look for proper cutoffs according to Quota (General-G, State-S, TFWS, etc), category (Open, OBC, SC, ST, etc) & also according to the university.
It would be easy if you go according to the marks obtained to look for cutoffs.
Best of Luck!
Hello Harshita, there are not much 1 crore package job offers offered in India. There is only a handful of a student who receives such packages. I doubt that there are no mechanical engineers there. Most of the high salary packages are bagged by CSE students who get placed in companies like Adobe, Intel, and apple. I don't think MTech mechanical engineers receive such packages.

Hi Sourav,
I understand your doubt regarding landing a job in the Maharatna, Navaratna, etc public sector undertaking companies as the companies only mention the common departments such as Electronics and Communications Engg, Electrical Engg, Mechanical Engg, Chemical Engg, etc for recruitment but fails to acknowledge the other not so common departments such as Production Engg properly.
Do know that other than the common branches most PSUs also consider recruitment for other departments such as Production Engg or Manufacturing Engg through GATE scores.
Some of the PSUs which consider Production Engg for recruitment through GATE are:
ONGC, IOCL, BPL, BHEL, NMDC, Railways, ICF, etc.
You can also consider visiting the official websites of the PSUs for detailed information.
BEST WISHES!

Dear Aspirant
From the past records it can be seen that the stipend is given to score of above 400+ so I can suggest you that this score might not get you the stipend.
Now the chance of getting Mtech, as the score is less we can say the chances are low even though you are from obc.
What I suggest is to get in to coaching institute prepare well and give the gate
All the best
Hello,
So TANCENT results are out and you have scored a normalized score of 33.77. The percentage of seats reserved for Most Backward classes (MBC) is 20%. So 20% seats are available to MBC. There are less government colleges under Anna University accepting TANCENT. Hence, you may or may not have a chance of admission if competition is high. But some colleges you can get admission in are:

Dear Vasant B Kajagar
Mechanical engineering is one of the core departments of engineering. The study is extensively about machines and their working and it is impossible to have an insight about the subject without practice in practical applications. Therefore labs are very important for this department
