I got nit patna mechanical. Is it better to join in nit Or in vnr information technology??

devaroon627_9555232 Student Expert 4th Aug, 2019

Hello aspirant,

Well between a NIT and a private engineering college, it is better to join a NIT since it is government college and the fees is also less compared to a private engineering college. Still below I have provided the required details about both the colleges -

NIT Patna :

  • National Institute of Technology, Patna is a government college and was eshtablished in the year 2004. The college campus is about 60 acres with 110 faculty people.
  • The college has been ranked at 134th positionn among engineering colleges by NIRF.
  • The facilities like boys hostel, girls hostel, gym, library, sports, wifi, medical/hospital, alumni association, convenience store, bank facilities etc.
  • As far as the placements are considered, a B.E./B.Tech gets a average package of 6 Lakhs.
  • As per the student reviews, the college is quite good.

VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad :

  • The college is a private engineering college and was eshtablished in the year 1995. The college campus is about 21 acres with 438 faculties.
  • The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hydearbad and has been also accredited 'A++' grade by NAAC. The college has also been ranked at 109th position among engineering colleges by NIRF.
  • The college has the facilities like boys hostel, girls hostel, gym, library, sports, wifi, cafeteria, medical/hospital,alumni association, transport etc.
  • Talking about the placements, a B.E./B.Tech student gets a average package of 3.42 Lakhs.
  • As per the reviews of the students, the college is pretty good.

Now according to me both the colleges are good in terms of infrastructure, faculty, recognition, placements, facilities etc. I would suggest that if you have interest for mechanical engineering, then NIT Patna is there or else for IT go for VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology. Now since VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology is a old college it has more experience than NIT Patna and also it is a private college so lots of facilities are avilable in the campus. Ultimately its totally upto you which college you will go to.

You can also go through the below mentioned links and checkout the details of both the colleges -

Good Luck !!!

What fee per year in mechanical engineering

Paridhi Jain 25th Jun, 2019
Hey Himanshu,

According to your query,

Actually different colleges have different fees structure and based on your marks or merit you also may get scholarships later. Now looking overall in India then for percue mechanical engineering the fees may start from INR 80,000 to 2.5 lakh per year for top reputed colleges. For IITs or NITs the fees would be something like INR 48.9K to 89k per year.

Hope you find it useful

Thank you.
