According to previous year opening and closing rank given in the josaa website it is very difficult for you to get admission in IIT Roorkee(Mechanical Engineering) based on your rank.

If this is your obc ncl rank then it is too difficult for you to get admission in any of the NITs or IIITs based on your jee mains rank and category.
Try for admission in any private colleges through state counselling based on your jee mains rank.

I think you are mistaken because Tiruchirapalli do not provide mechanical course in BTech .
There are only two course available that is computer science engineering and electronic and communication engineering.
And with this rank you have a fair chance to get any of the two branch (

Since you have secured 85.2 percentile in Jee main. Your expected common list rank would be almost 170000. Since you are lying under St category . You may get BIT Mesra for mechanical engineering if you have the home state quota otherwise not.
