Metallurgical Engineering
Hello Aspirant,
Due to less number of applicants for GATE Metallurgy as compared to other branches, most of the coaching institutions ignore this stream. So there is none. One or two coaching are there but don't trust them. I suggest you buy GATE metallurgy question paper book by Arihant publication.
follow the pattern of paper, you will found that many questions are repeatedly asked every year. Identify those questions, note them separately and read about them from reference books.
If you don't know the answers, go to reference books and read about that concerned topic only. This way you will learn faster and effectively.
Hope this helps.

Hello Chaithanyaa
NIT TRICHY is one of the most premium institutes of the country. The institute stands excellently apart from other colleges as long as faculties, facilities and placements are concerned. It is ranked "1" amaong the National Institutes of Technology and ranked "13" among the engineering colleges in India. B.Tech of the institute helds an upper hand among all the programs runned by the college. As long as M.tech is considered it produced far far better results than other institutes.
There are three specialization in the metallurgy department. Those include Welding Engineering, Industrial Metallurgy and Material and Science Engineering. As per the records available, for the year 2016-17, the placement percentage was pretty good. In Welding Engineering 18 out of 24 got placed. In Industrial Metallurgy 16 out of 22 got placed and in Material Scince 8nout of 14 students got placed.
Placement ratio differs from year to year. But on an average case 40 out of 60 students get placed every year. As long as Industrial Metallurgy is concerned, it gets minimum number of on campus drives in terms of companies as comnpared to other streams and specialization. My suggestion to you will be NIT Trichy is not the wrong place. If you keep yourself aware and focussed, you will surely land up in a good place with a good bunch of people.
All the best!
