It all depend on how much you need to qualify GATE. If you really need some thing you will get it. It doesn't matter these 4 years of Gap.All you need to study for 5 months with full dedication.

The possibility of getting admission in NIT is totally depends on the JEE Mains rank. And a criteria of only 75% in 12th boards for the elogibilty of the entrance exam for getting into NIT. Hope this will help you.

Hey Shubha,

for qualifying the eligibility for IITs or NITs you have to secure

minimum 75% or you have to come under top 20 percentile.

So please get the information of your board top 20 percentile percentage.
