hello sir/madam, according to the previous stats,to secure a place in NIT Durgapur for a general categorized student, what should be the range of marks out of 300 in JEE MAIN?

Abhishek Roy 5th Dec, 2020

Irrespective of whether you are a Home State or All India Quota Student, you can be assured of admission in NIT Durgapur in atleast a Respectable Branch with a Rank of 30k in JEE Main. Of course, you may have cutoffs lower than this at 40-50k for Home State students or even lower in certain branches, but you should atleast keep a figure of 30k in mind, while preparing your JEE Mains Test Taking Strategy. For a Rank of 30k, you need approx around 97-97.5 percentile, or perhaps a score between 140 on 300, further depending on the Toughness of your Session.

I have joined NIT Durgapur last year. And I have attempted JEE main again this year. I got allotted in NIT Nagpur. Im choosing to go to Nagpur. What should I do during submission of documents? Should I submit GAP certificate?

Tarreni Behera 29th Nov, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

It is necessary for you to furnish the GAP certificate during admission process in NIT Nagpur. The certificate shall mention the requisite dates and the activity associated when you had taken a year drop after school.

The certificate is very easy to make and you can get it made in a non-judicial Stamp paper from the nearby notary shop. You may need to provide some necessary details like your name, address and other stuff which are necessary to make the document.

You should worry about it that much though. It is because the Gap certificate is more of a secondary document and you may even ask for a time period of 15 days from the Institute to submit the valid gap certificate. In some cases, the date is even extended and you shall therefore have plenty of time to get the document ready.

As far as necessity is concerned, then yes this document is extremely important for you as it is one of the documents asked by the authorities in all NITs and IITs during admission time from droppers.

Therefore, get the document ready in order to be furnished during admission process. It won't cost you much and you shall be able to get your hands on that document with ease.

I wish you a great journey ahead and may you have a prosperous career in the future. Good Luck.

if a candidate score 85%tile in jee mains from SC category can he/she get civil in nit durgapur or jamshedpur

Anirudh Singh 28th Nov, 2020

Hi.

Since you have not mentioned rank, i can only estimate it to be around 165679 - 120612

So according to the closing ranks of 2019, for

1) NIT Durgapur

You will not be able to get admission into any branch, even for SC Category, the closing ranks have been below 10,000 for all branches.

2) NIT Jamshedpur

Similar is the case for NIT Jamshedpur. Closing ranks for SC Category have been below 10,000

If you have a specific query, please feel free to comment.

Best of Luck.

Which is better to choose for btech, mechanical engineering at iiest shibpur or electrical at nit Durgapur?

Harsh Chandravanshi 9th Nov, 2020

Hi Aspirant!

The first basis to compare the college is on NIRF Ranking and on that basis NIT Durgapur is at 47 position while IIEST Shibpur is at 21 position. So on the basis of NIRF Ranking IIEST is better.

Now the second parameter is placement and on that basis NIT Durgapur has median package of 6 Lakhs while IIEST has 4.5 lakhs median package.Hence on that basis NIT Durgapur is better.

But here is one thing to note that IIEST Shibpur will provide you more opportunity that NIT Durgapur because it is good in every aspect as it has better NIRF ranking. And if a student will get good opportunity then they will automatically bring good placement.

Hence you should choose IIEST Shibpur, but the end decision is yours.

I hope it helps.
