National Institute of Technology Durgapur
Hi Supu,
According to previous year statistics,
The closing of Chemical engg. for General candidates in NIT Durgapur was 27,845 in spot round.
The closing of Chemical engg. for General candidates in BIT Mesra was 67k in spot round.
You most probably won't get Chemical Engg. at NIT Jalandhar. If you haven't got Chemical Engg at BIT Mesra as of now, I'm sure you'll get it in CSAB special round. I'd suggest you to read the article below on CSAB, it contains all the details.

Hey, Both of the colleges you provided are amazing and have great placements. The faculties too are equally good.
Placements in NITJ are good. Around 80% of the students got placed from campus. The highest package offered was 75 LPA, the average package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest package was 5 LPA. Approximately 200 companies visit the campus every year. Internships are also offered by companies. The highest stipend offered is Rs. 1 lac, and the lowest is Rs. 30,000. There is a training and placement cell. Well i am providing you with a link below which will help you to compare both the colleges based on different parameters like ranking, placements, faculty and more - Https://www.careers360.com/compare-colleges Do visit the website for a clear and better idea before making a choice. Hope this helps.

OR- 27,262 and CR- 28,493
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
Now let's go through your question.
As you will be knowing that the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are autonomous public institutes of technology imparting undergraduate and postgraduate programs in India.
Let's go with NIRF ranking which is basically done based on teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, outreach and inclusivity, graduation outcomes and perception. The ranking parameters of NIRF broadly cover Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research and Professional Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.
It seems that Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology comes before NIT, durgapur so in terms of rankings it is better.
Thank You & All the best!
Both these colleges are amongst the top colleges in the country and they also have very good faculties and placements. Therefore you should make the choice in accordance with whether you are interested in electrical engineering or Computer Science as that will enable you to take decision. Hope this helps. Regards.
Hello,
If you are a home state student then according to your rank , you will be able to get civil, mechanical, cse, electrical in csab round.
But this is totally on your luck as the seat you will get depends on how many seats are unfilled in the branch and how many students are participate h in the csab round
All the best?!!!!

both are excellent options but ECE as a branch has more options for getting better jobs.

Hi Bipasha!
Greetings!
Go for NIT Durgapur.
Reason 1.
Unlike Calcutta University you will be assured of a good placement at the end of 4 yrs as the first batch of 4 yr Btech hast graduated from CU so…nothing can be said about placements
Reason 2
.Being an NIT..Its overall popularity in the field of Technology is much better than Calcutta University which is mainly a multidisciplinary university primarily known for courses like pure science,Law,arts, etc and. not primarily focused on a certain course like engineering…and the 4 yr Btech curriculum is fairly new.
Reason 3.
Exposure as a student of an NIT is moreEnvironment and marking scheme will be better at NIT Durgapur as here at CU…getting good marks is tough and the environment lacks enthusiasm and energy…If you are interested in Chemical then you can think otherwise…otherthan than that…..Go for NIT Durgapur…as here at CU the course is new and nothing is guaranteed.
Reason 4 .
You can aslo slide your stream from mechanical later after 1st yr at NIT DGP. So chances are you could end up getting ECE or CSE there too.
Please upvote if this was helpful to you.
Thank you and good luck.
